Quote
Hobberz Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Dont know any of the answers sorry man, but where can I buy tickets? Quote
LabRat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 legally you can't sell tickets for a private event such as this. if you do, then you basically need to have a liquor license, you will need to pay royalties to APRA, security, OH&S etc etc. Quote
CapFive Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 yeah ok so my mate is fucked then... this may not go ahead Quote
LabRat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 if it goes ahead and the cops find out then yeah. if you apply for the right licenses you can transfer to a hall somewhere and turn it into a proper event Quote
Jaz Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 just tell the cops its cancelled then have it anyway lol Quote
CapFive Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 But its a house warming party lol... I dunno what he's gonna do hey hebsold 500 tickets at $50 each... looks like he has to give people the money back... poor khunt Quote
Jaz Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 lol its like "welcome to your new home" then it gets fucked by 500 whales Quote
LabRat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 sounds pretty extreme for a house warming lol Quote
imadje Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 law sounds pretty similar to in the uk.You cant sell tickets for private.if its not private (i.e. it's making money) it needs license and you must pay tax on the income etc.You can ask for people to give "gifts" at any party. but if he's been selling tickets already and distributing advertising then he's fucked it.Next time do it on the D.L. and just ask everyone to donate a "gift" of $50.This time you better hope the filth have a busy night coz if there's nothing better to do they'll be on you searching for contraband etc. Quote
mattus123 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 im prettys ure the rule isif u dont have proper licensing, your not allowed to charge entry for the eventand from memory it is NOT worth gettin the lisencing Quote
imadje Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 ^lol, i wasnt going to say anything but this is the guy with the aircraft hangar isnt it?you know what they say about the rich: they didnt get that way by being nice to people.then again, it does depend what you get for your money, the gent could be the nicest man on the planet, i would expect an interesting bag of goodies and free grog at least Quote
styga Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 if the cops do come just say it was gifts from everyone, or say everyone chipped in for the djs and lighting and alcohol and no tickets were actually bought Quote
Skank Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 fuck the police cause a riot if they shut shit down Quote
BeatLeSS Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Holy fucking shit $50 a ticket and 500 sold, thats $25,000.You better be making a few k outta that, this is bigger than a local event! Why doesn't he get the proper licensing if it's the dude with the aircraft hanger. So long as it's not-for-profit i'm pretty sure you can charge people, but you will need at the very least public liability insurance, no doubt someones gonna get hurt and wanna sue.I DJ'ed an openhouse party 30k outta town once, 300 people was the max if you register the party with them, everyone needed wristbands.Hit max people by 7:30pm. Was crazy. Quote
CapFive Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 Yeah beat he's paying me.well, it was going to be $50 entry with free drinks till 11pm starting at 8pm this guy has it all set up, 3 bars, the hanger was the dancefloor, and 4 other dancefloors with stereo's cranking digital radio stations of hip hop, trance, dubstep and top 40 for the ladies lolHe is tying to secure a licence and yeah he heard about the 300 Max so I think he will refund 200 tix Quote
SourceRaver Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Jeez...even with 300 people you still have a major event on you plate; Hes going to have to think about:Extra toiletsParkingSecurity (200 potential gate crashers who may be a bit miffed they missed out)Folks trying to drink their $50 enrtry fee and more. Better have lots of bar staff.Food to stop everyone getting too drunk and rioting over the lack of loo paperFirst aid for the drunken idiot who falls over on the dance floor.Extra rubbish binsA cloak room of sime kind if its cold cause the chicks wont want to throw their coats on the groundPower for all the extra lighting, sound, refrigeration etcI hope your friend realises he probably wont be having a fun night. Cupe Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 rich people don't give a fuckthat's why we all hate them Quote
BeatLeSS Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Yeah beat he's paying me.well, it was going to be $50 entry with free drinks till 11pm starting at 8pm this guy has it all set up, 3 bars, the hanger was the dancefloor, and 4 other dancefloors with stereo's cranking digital radio stations of hip hop, trance, dubstep and top 40 for the ladies lolHe is tying to secure a licence and yeah he heard about the 300 Max so I think he will refund 200 tixSounds like Not-For-Profit to me Get him to start a small NFP company and just have the money syphoned back through purchase of equipment.
