Jarrah Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hi I have been offered these for a very good price from a friend http://www.beatsbydre.com/products/Prod ... 3808&cat=1Just wondering if any of you know how these compare to popular cans such as HDJ2000s and XD53s?I would use these for DJing and I don't know if it is worth grabbing them if the other headphones are more suitable for DJing,Thanks guys Quote
Jaz Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 ive heard good things about them but i still wouldnt think they are as good as XD53's Quote
Jarrah Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Worth $180? I have heard that they leak sound quite a bit and are fairly fragile...I might lean towards HDJ2000s or XD53's Quote
SolDios Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Ive had a demo of a pair of beats before. There good, but not worth the cash, get a pair of XD 53's.Not just for the sound quality, but the plastic of the beats is very flimsy, and flaps all over the place if moved even slightly. Quote
Jarrah Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Thanks Soldios,Yeaah I think I might not get them, If I was to grab a different pair of headphones, you would recommend the XD53s over the HDJ2000s?(I am sure you are heard that 10000000 times, sorry!)Jarrah Quote
Jaz Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 for the price man ive heard 2000's arent that good, but yeh like 8/10 members on here have XD53's and we all love them...havent seen anyone say they dont like them so far Quote
SolDios Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Monster's idea of the beats was thisLooks > Quality/Sound Quote
Jarrah Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 I'm going XD-53s + rep to all of you! Thanks Quote
Jaz Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 you wont be disappointed mate, try and win a pair in the mix competition if you want Quote
eggssell Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hey sol i disagree with you. Monster headphones have great sound quality but you pay premium for the branding. A mate who worked at harvey got me some inears for my bday cuz he can get for costs. And the sound and isolation were awesome. And from what ive heard the dre series are actually extremely good in the studio. But again only for those that can afford it because the extra dollars from these versus a cheaper pair doesnt equate to extea better sound. I.e a lot of dollars more for only marginal improvement hence not worth it. But that doesnt make em poor quality. Back to OP though. These are studio headphones and have no swivel so i would definitely not recommend. You will crack them trying to dj w one ear. Quote
LabRat Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Beats by dre are not as bad as I thought they'd be but very over priced and there are better cans out there. Techs, A&H, sens just to name a few. I'm not sure what the build quality is like on them but when you're djing you tend to throw your cans around a bit so best to have some solid gear Quote
fackedd Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 if you want to look sexy like Havana brown, get them.srsget HD 25's or XD 53's. Quote
lloydc Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks Soldios,Yeaah I think I might not get them, If I was to grab a different pair of headphones, you would recommend the XD53s over the HDJ2000s?(I am sure you are heard that 10000000 times, sorry!)Jarrahi went to dj warehouse to buy hdj2000's but thought i'd road test the xd53 and hd25s as well.2000's are most comfortable, xd53 sound better and i'm not a fan of hd25s.I walked out with 53's as I thought they performed the best of the lot. I'm still glad I went down that road. Quote
ruggs Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 i have hd-25s and love them! also don't beats take batteries? Quote
LabRat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 i have hd-25s and love them! also don't beats take batteries?yeah. i think thats part of the reason why they're so clear. they're proper digital headphones Quote
Mitch Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 i have hd 25 sp-ii and i think they are real good. I would pay the extra to get the better headband though if i had my time again. Good due to lightweight, good isolation and sound quality. And i find them quite comfy. However i haven't tried the xd53's to compare them. Quote
Jarrah Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 I am tempted to go XD 53s everyone has raved about them and I told my mate selling his beats by dre that I don't want them,Thanks everyone for all the help here!Jarrah Quote
BeatLeSS Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Won't be disappointed with the XD-53's bud trust me.Fucking crazy cool headphones, had HDJ1000's and for the same price they are better specced. . Haven't looked back on these. Quote
Gandy Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 xd53's are boss, simply amazing i think 3/4 of this board rocks em, and the rest hd-25's. I bought them purely off everyones reccomendations from here because i dont have a dj store near me, and was not disappointedid say the xd53's and hd-25s are evenly specced, just different preference on what feels more comfortrable Quote

Funky_Steve Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Just a couple of things about the Beats. If you are looking for a pair to DJ with, it's the Pro model you want, not the Studio. Pro has a swivel cup and aluminium frame. Also, if you're looking at buying them from anywhere but an authorised dealer (ie from eBay or online) beware as there are heaps of fakes on the market. The Pro's retail for around $700!!! so a pair on eBay for around $300 sounds too good to be true and probably is.:-) Quote
SolDios Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 You can get the pro's from deals extreme for $97There legit, heaps of good reviews and everything Quote
MintyCondition Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Beat's are so overrated, they are like a bloody fashion accessory for guys... and more or less girls too... I personally strongly dislike these headphones and find the both uncomfortable and too mainstream to even buy them. Quote
Robsta Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Too mainstreamLawlI don't mind beats but for their price you would be stupid not to go for another make of headphones that will sound much better. Every second kid at my school has a pair, It's ridiculous. That being said however if they made a charlotte Hornets pair I'd probably buy them.. What are the in ear bud beats like?I've been looking for a pair of in ear buds what are the beats like? Anything better? Quote
