SolDios
Just saw jaz got his cdj 850's for $1300, and I keep seeing cdj 800's go for around $1000. Is it worth the extra money? They seem to have usb support so I could probably connect it to traktor without an audio 4.thoughts?
LabRat
Depends if you want new or old I guess. If you're going to use the functions and they'll benefit you then pay the extra. But like me for example, I use them as a cd player and usually mangle beats via an external effects unit so I wouldn't really need to pay the extra. All comes down to if you're going to use all the stuff
SolDios
Yeh, I might change up though because I did want to get an audio 4 to hook em up to a computer. This way I dont even need that.
Elsamchez
You can only connect 850's to traktor using them as a midi controller. The tsi file for mapping was only released last month. If you plan on being reliant on traktor/software I would choose something else, because the HID/Midi works but is prone to problems/features not working. That said, if you are happy mixing with CD's/usb keys/sd cards over using traktor, they are quite good. Jaz
850's are a small step up from 1000's but are a masssssive step up from 800's in my opinion...i got mine cheap and it took me months of waiting so be prepared to wait
SourceRaver
850s FTWLike ther 400s, you can use them as a control surface for software like Traktor. You have access to Rekordboxthey have a larger platter like the 800s, 1000s, 900s, and 2000sDefinatley worth a few hundred bucks more. Can't you use any cd player / turntable with traktor / serato?Depends on how you plan on running it. If it is setup in a timecode, then you can use most. Also if your CD player has HID/Midi then most likely yes. However traktor does not have mappings for ALL CD players. Meaning you would have to midi map your CD player as a controller for it to work, which is a pain and can be problematic.

tubby
I use my 800's with a tc cd, so work fine, but even then i would say the 850's at only $300 more are most definitely worth that small extra price
