Duracell Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Whoa relax gandy I'm not havin a dig at you mate we are all entitled to our opinions, I belive in another thread you told foolish that the track he posted up was "the gayest shit you have heard" I'm glad to see other people interested in dub and if that's the flavour you dig then power to you brother. I just get over opinionated when it comes to the styles I mix, my problem not yours. Any way bro didn't mean to stir you up. Quote
imadje Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 anyway: i was into dub reggae since i heard it on pirate radio mid '80sfollowed drum n bass since '90's when it transformed from jungle and bassline/2-step since it transformed from garage.IMO It was only a matter of time until someone put all these ideas together and created the bastard child we all love now Quote
Duracell Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Would have been awesome to watch it grow and progress, just to think it all originated from the amen break tell me foolish what are the dnb clubs like over there? I can't even begin to imagine compared to ours Quote
imadje Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 TBH out of all the scenes I have seen come and go DnB has maintained its underground roots pretty well throughout. There are a few stadium size events throughout the year if you like that sort of thing but most cities still have one or two small to mid size d n b events mid week to cater for the fans. These events generally concentrate on sound quality and crowd quality. Vibe over income everytime. Its not a scene that has become too commercial or sold out even after 15 years or so... UK centres for D n B are Birmingham and Bristol but most towns have a weekly event. Leeds had one called Dope, and it was.I'm not sure what you guys think of pendulum fans but most of the d n b headz i know consider them the kiss of death for the scene. Stadium/anthem rock isnt where the old guard want it to go... Quote
styga Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Can't say I've had mine yet, there's a few songs that are good but I'm still not all that into it aye Quote
Mattox81 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 dubstep is going mad mainstream mainly to dj 's like skrillex now every tom dick n harry are rocking dubstep gotta admit but skrillex does some insane mixes Quote
tommykesh Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 My theroy is that in the not to distant future your gonna see the bulk of mainstream shit imitating dubs sound (poorly). Quote
Duracell Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Yh when it comes to dnb pendulum are not my first thought. same story for dub I here all the cheesy shit that is rolling through and it makes me cringe. They think because it's at 70 bpm with warble it's dub which is way off the mark I wish it would have stayed underground Quote
