chrismak Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I say go for it. Its free after all.(edit)I had ubuntu on a work laptop a couple of years back. Was a bitch to get the Bigpond 3G USB dongle working but everything else worked like a charm. Quote
lloydc Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I say go for it. Its free after all.not to mention stable Quote
Mitch Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 ive used a range of different linux distributions. I'd definately recommend ubunutu over windows for one of those mini laptops.A netbook isn't going to be doing anything too intense anyway, and ubuntu has all the software you'd be familiar with, e.g.:-openoffice-firefoxetc. Quote
CapFive Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Ubuntu works well for basic stuff, its a minority because its freeware and freeware can only go so far... Quote

Elsamchez Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Linux is a step forward. There is a good reason why a truck load of web servers use it as their base OS. Quote

Robsta Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Some of you guys are silly, Linux is great. I've used Linux all my life (Dad is a huge Linux nerd) and I've always found it better than Windows. I'm currently running Linux Mint on my Main PC, it's my personal favourite when it ces to the different distros. Quote
