SolDios Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Hey guys, If I were to get a cdj setup? what mixer should I get?I was looking along the lines of a xone 42 or a djm 600 (or 700 if I can get one cheap)I know I want a 4 channel, that way I can have my ipod classic with all my music on it loaded on a sep deck for requests.I was thinking prehaps a xone 42 cause of the dedicated filters (im not going to molest them) just use them to create a build up during parts of a mix + a chance to get fammiliar with allen and heath mixers, they pop up alot in photo's of dj's alot. Jaz Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 how about this, get a DJM400 mixer, it will be much cheaper then the xone42 and djm700...and the DJM600 is around the same price but its not that good of a mixerand your ipod idea will still work with the DJM400, just buy a $5 Aux to 1/4" lead and plug the ipod into the microphone input...that way when someone requests a song u just press play and turn the microphone channel up...what u recon Quote
LabRat Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Xone series are a much better mixer then the djm. I'd say go 4 channel any day but the 22 will be the better option Quote
SolDios Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 ^ other thread was about cdj'sso im guessing allen and heath do good mixers? Quote
crundyy Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 the real question is...why is your avatar a photo of the big bird reading a book Quote
SolDios Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 Just wondering though... are there roadcases for the bigger cdj's that only have room for the smaller mixers?I really hate having room between the cdj and the mixer. Quote
crundyy Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 if you do have a mixer thats a bit smaller for the case you've got just pack around it with black foam bruzzzz Quote
SolDios Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 if it went for the two freaking huge mic channels, id get this https://www.storedj.com.au/products/BEH-NOX606 Quote
LabRat Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 allen and heath mixers are boss. and what crundyy said, just fill it up til it fits in Quote
SolDios Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 ^ good point. Thanks oh how I long for dedicated filters.I hate the ones that automaticly turn up and down, when I played with a 700 (dident realise the filter above it) I couldent turn it off!anyone know how to stop it from auto going from min to max? imadje Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 xone 22 has a version of the allen and heath voltage controlled filters. They set the bar and have maintained it. All the pioneer djm mixers sync the filter sweep to tempo, you just get to choose how many beats it takes for full sweep.Xone series give you real control off their filters although only a button to choose resonance not a rotary pot.Still the best filter you can get on a DJ mixer IMO.The xone 22 is a serious piece of kit mate. SolDios Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 That mixer is awesome! but unfortunatly it doesent have a mic input :C I can just hook my mic direct into one of my speakers though I spose. Quote
LabRat Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 the 22 should have a mix input. all mxers do / should :s Quote
