lloydc Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 So I know im about to potentially start a fight to the death here, but...Serato Rane Scratch or Traktor Scratch?both have their pro's and consI prefer traktor.... Quote
Gandy Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 traktor is cheaper, and by the looks of this thread you are trying to go as cheap as possbile Quote
lloydc Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I can use the x1 with traktor as well you can use the x1 with anything, it's a midi controller Quote
Hobberz Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 You can use the X1 with Serato Scratch Live too. You should sit down, work out a rough figure of money you wish to spend and then work from there. Dont think you need software straight up. Get yourself some decks and play with cds/vinyl for a while and get familar with everything. Than later down the track buy software. Buying gear is easy. You just need a budget and rough idea on what you want. Who cares what people say if you use serato or cdjs etc. Its your money and your gear. Quote
SolDios Posted July 11, 2011 Author Posted July 11, 2011 ^ sounds alright, sent fb messages to all the people I know with dvs setups (3 people) asking if I could sit in, hopefully they say yes Quote

SolDios Posted July 11, 2011 Author Posted July 11, 2011 1.1k, I already have the traktor 2 + traktor scratch software, just need the hardware if I choose that path.will probs get:two Stanton t 62's $640audio line pro 4ch mixer ($150, while I save for a decent pioneer mixer)audio 4 djTraktor x1Edit: another unfortunate reason im considering dvs is because unfortunately people judge a dj on what gear he has too, and they all seem to love spinny things.p.s. im tagging along with a dj next weekend who has a dvs setup ;3 Quote
imadje Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 you arent in court sol, so you can tell the judges to fuck off.trying vinyl should be your 1st step to deciding if DVS is really right for you. What anyone else thinks is irrelevant. And that anyone includes me mate. Quote

lloydc Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 i tend to agree with the other guys... and lugging around turntables is a pain in the ass.gotta admit, you still look kinda pro using TTs Quote
SolDios Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 ^ yes, and part of this survey im doing is to judge whether people will judge a dj on his gear or not.generally I believe they do, and first impressions are important. Quote
Hobberz Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 In all the 1 million threads you have started about what gear you want I have told you not to worry about what people think. You are 16 mate, no one expects you to rock up to a house party and put on a show like Deadmau5. No matter where you go there will always be someone who doesnt agrew with you. Weather its;Traktor v SeratoPioneer v DenonVinyl v CdHolden v FordV8 v Turbo I could go on for days. Dont let other people influence you too much mate, go with what makes you happy and what keeps your wallet happy. Quote
Jaz Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 ^+1 but the you are due for an upgrade from the mdex man, you just gotta make up your mind as to whatso far ive read the DDJT thing or watever its called, the S4, and now Turnies...lol Quote

SolDios Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 ^ ;3 saves $200 haha.as it turns out, the dvs set-up will be $100 dearer.however il choose which one I want when I sit in on this gig next month. Quote

Gandy Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 cant wait to see what setup you will be asking about next, where no matter how many pages of advice we give you, you still dont listen then end up getting something completly random, i think the only thngs left are cdjs though, any takers? Quote
