Yo, check out my first full-length original track. Free download is available which I recommend as the Soundcloud quality isnt as good as what it is meant to be, as it starts clipping a bit in the drop even though I tried fiddling around with the master levels, and limiter a billion times but nothing worked.

and thanks jaz, clipping probably is easier to notice when listening on monitors but I think its alright.

Think that snare is all wrong though, try sidechain compressing it with with a fast release, so it really snaps in and out. That way the really get the transient POW from it, then it ducks back underneath

without knowing fuck all about producing can i guess what that meens?

sidechain the snare drum to the kick drum so the snare hits then when the kick comes in it gets cut off?

It doesn't get cut off, it gets compressed for as long as you've determined (release), by a certain amount (ratio)

thanks for the advice CBG, can't remember how I sidechained the drums. I know when I bussed the synths I had a super quickly attack on it but that's it.

samples taken from all over the place really, but the snare was actually a snare and clap merged together with the clap hitting a tiny bit later than the snare.
