SolDios
OOOH I KNOW THIS ONE!its called logmein.combasically install the software on the computer you want to use, and you can remote into it from anywhere with internet, even your iphone.its secure with https and you have to log in once to your account, then theres a different password for computers you have added to the account. lloydc
thanks sol, I've used something similar... i'm looking at $70 a year for something like that though.I'm not sure it's worth it at that price.EDIT: just found the free version.hopefully it has all the features I need
Mitch
i second logmeinthere is another way though, if the work computer is a windows pc, you can enable the remote desktop connection function built into windows, then download the remote desktop connection program for mac off the microsoft website and do it that way. possibly more advanced setup though, particularly if your work doesn't have a static ip address. not too hard to work around though

chrismak
Strange how your work uses a 'home' version of windows. Its a bit dodge but you can try this out:http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-enable-remote-desktop-connection-in-windows-7-home-premium-edition/You'll need to ensure port 3389 is not blocked. I only needed it to run office and some other software.I've just had a play with logmein and it works pretty damn good... a little laggy, but fairly normal for RDPi just logged in from my mac and it works just fine, but the real test will be in a few hours when I attempt to log in again.... my pc usually goes into sleep mode after about an hour or so, but i set it to come alive when i log in.lets hope it worksthanks again sol
