practice with a track that has a definitive four four kick.

have your incoming track be faster so you know which way you are pitching (i.e. down).

ensure your monitor is directly in front, to the side, or behind you. and at least at waist level. you wont need this as you improve but just to get use to it i found this the best.

use the headphone on one ear method.

NOTE: not genius in fact i still take a while sometimes

We need to have a sticky on this topic.

oh wait, we do :S

HAHAHA

OHH SNAP.

but yeah, theres about a million threads on this with a simple google and/or youtube search.

why do people new to dj'ing never search? 90% of there q's have already been asked.

I'm not trying to sound like a dick and I've helped tons of people on various forums with questions before, but don't be lazy and expect everything to be spoon fed to you.

this is how you match a beet

sum2007_first_carrots_plus_beets.jpg

see its a bit hard to tell which beeta actually match, but when you look closer, the colours are a little different as well as the shape...

after some practice you will get there

just like this

Remember this??? http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... 63&start=0

I do somewhat agree with you Cap, this forum will be full of threads about beat matching tips and what gear Sol is going to buy this week. But you did go a little over board.

Im just thinking out aloud here but maybe Cupe could include a feature when starting a new thread where it comes up with a notice saying something like;

Have you tried the forums search function to see if this topic has been covered already?, and give the poster the option to click Yes or No.

or

Say you start a thread Help with beat matching, when you submit the new thread it brings up a message saying check out these threads before starting a new one. Im sure there would be a way it could automatically search and bring up threads containing the key words i.e(Help and Beat matching).

No matter how many indications you make in regards to searching before posting, someone will always make a new thread about something answered before etc.

Why not let them? If they ask something that has been answered link it, but they might want some replies specifically aimed at their enquiry; makes them feel all fuzzy inside.

What hobberz proposes (or anyone else for that matter) can be very difficult to implement. The search function exists, we shouldn't have to do anything else to point at it other than let someone know, or link to something for them. If we have a user who continually makes new threads asking the same old already answered shit, then I'll tell them to stop or ban them if they don't.

ADJF, not ITM; don't forget it and don't fuck up our Eden
