CapFive Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 i want to start poscasting my mixes, how do i go about it? will i have issues with playing other artsts songs? can i give them royalties? im keen to get my name out there and itunes is just so large, i would love to do a monthly podcast Quote
Tomy Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 yeahhhhhhhh.ok podcasts. legal ones. are expensive. Give APRA a call and you'll have to get a quote for the show.In general the things to note are: - No one Podcast program can have more than 80% music use. - APRA|AMCOS approach to podcast licensing is a percentage of gross revenue related to the service - subject to a minimum fee; - The percentage rate is 10% (plus GST) with minimum fees ranging from $50 (plus GST) per Podcast program to $400.00 (plus GST) per Podcast program.- Fees cover both APRA and AMCOS licences. - Reporting of all music used in each Podcast program required. - Any Video Podcast (Vodcast) may need separate reproduction rights cleared directly with music publishers. - Please note our licence only represents the reproduction and communication of the musical work. That is the underlying copyright - the lyrics/notes/chords of a song. Sound recordings need separate clearance if you decide to use any you may wish to contact PPCA: 02 8569 1111 or email: ppca.mail@ppca.com.au. i was quoted $375 for a 2hour pod with 75% music. Quote
