CapFive Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 This sounds like a good idea, might do some reasearch!!! Quote
CapFive Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 OK so I have level headed myself and when it comes.down to it, all I need is a MIDI controller that loops fades pitches and fades eq's, so my little Hercules mp3 e2 is all I need think I will invest in a USB DJ sound card and use this with my i5 4gig ram tablet and I should he in the business Quote
Lurk6r Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Why not upgrade to the Hercules rmx or 4mx if you want bigger wheels. Both have built in sound cards. Quote
CapFive Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 well how much would a decent sound card cost? Quote
Hobberz Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 well how much would a decent sound card cost?Couple hundred Quote
CapFive Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 hmmm might see what i can get for this on ebay... Quote
tubby Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 can i suggest the first thing you do when you get some money out of him is spent $100 on a huge hard drive to back this stuff up? plenty of people have asked beatport nicely when they've had disk failures and been allowed to re-download tracks they already bought, worth asking the question. bre-burning several hundred discs, that's going to suck Quote
dim Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 ^ good point tubby.i would recommend either of the following options:-a dvs system where you get a soundcard, cables, software and timecode cds or vinyl to use on your existing players. Serato and traktor are the two big players in this field. both supply products with all the bits you need in one package.-or a good controller with audio, i hear the numark NS6 is ok but the pioneer ddjt shoudl suit you too.TBH timecode cds prob suit you best as you have the dex and mixer already dont you?and the external drive tubby mentions. CapFive Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 I have everything backed up, just a BIG chunk of my library I never got around to doing... I am actually a not of an organised freak... I have a back up on 2 seperate hard drives invade the other fails lol, I don't have cdjs, just have an old skool mixer I used to plug the laptop into and use vdj for my mates parties etc coupled with my bcd3000... lol I know shitty setup, but it did me fine for 3 years and I didn't see a need to upgrade, might look into a DJ soundcard Quote
CapFive Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 this looks like a good soundcard....Hercules RMX console Quote
dim Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 oh shit, s the cd wallet was for playing out? i figured you had dex...no worries then. but yeah that hercules number is ok, def better than bcd3000 and vdj.what software does it come with? Quote
CapFive Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 I have ableton traktor vdj and Sony acid pro lol, but it comes with some gay le version of vdj, I'm so sick of that program now I'm gonna use tracktor from now on Quote
CapFive Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 The CD case was because alot of my mates own Dex so I would always have a play when they were gigging or when we have a mix Quote
lloydc Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I have ableton traktor vdj and Sony acid pro lol, but it comes with some gay le version of vdj, I'm so sick of that program now I'm gonna use tracktor from now on thats a lot of software Quote
