legunner
sounds good man, one thing i heard off a club promoter once and it may sound silly at first but it does make sense is that try to make sure that your promo mixes and mixtapes have very few breakdowns in them.. like try having a beat going nearly all the time to keep the d-floor going. I'll have think about that a bit more.I never though that would be an issue, is this also for mixtapes or playing out aswell? lolcheers for the feedback though guys. legunner
nah i mean like think about when your dancing having a good time then the song goes into a breakdown everybody just kinda stands there get me? its good for mixing and listening to but for playing out its a little different
fackedd
No i understand, I just don't see how I can avoid breakdowns.... it's pretty common in a tracks structure.Unless im playing underground house tracks and prog which pretty much has a steady 4/4 beat the whole time. street
breakdowns are usually where there is the most focus on vocals so the crowd will be heaps into it anyway (depending on whether its a good song or not), plus its never likely to be more than 16 or so bars (usually more like 8 bars) before the drums of the build section start to kick in. I wouldnt really worry bout it too much.
fackedd
yeah I was going to say that, most of the time the breakdown has vocals so It's not too bad.
