Johbremat Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 ...shit people can do with the gear available at your fingertips...Bar the cats, figure it was all relevant. Quote

dim Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 ^OM fookin G! wot a post by duracellI've seen that b4 but only surrounded by hyped nutters so I couldnt concentrate. What a watch!Couple things it's made me think about tho: 1) he does needle drop once at 1.36 ish.... notice how sick he does it while still scratching a beat perfectly with his other hand, unbelieveable control to do something so unrythmic with one hand while doing something so on beat with the other.2) He doesnt change vinyl once. Neither do the DJs on a few of these posts... makes me think they are pressing wax specifically with all the sounds they need in the right order so apart from the needle drop I mentioned in note 1 above the whole needle drop/ record change skill is no longer a factor... so they could use DVS?3) when he does his jesus pose at the beginning is anyone else seeing how his shoulders and back will not straighten up fully? I guess that man spends A LOT OF TIME hunched over those platters and will suffer for his art.Anyway: That was amazing, it's back to the drawing board for me. Quote
Duracell Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 yh he is a DMC champion so i guess he could have had a pair pressed up, man i just watched your vids man you have some serious talent i cant wait to get a few tricks down, my friend Qbert is helping me you might have heard of him ;-) any way fuck it + REP again I like the cut of your jib simpson Quote
dim Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 my friend Qbert is helping me you might have heard of himvia dvd rite? if you know qbert i'm coming for lessons too...P.S. DVDs were'nt invented when i learnt to scratch, and i've learnt nothing new in 15 years, havent had time... All the guys who have learnt since all the tutorials have been around often end up sounding the same to me... all i'm saying is: if you find one of the techniques on your dvd hard to master just put it away... get your head down and go for it instead... you may discover you're own style Quote
