street
Knocked Up Noise's Hollaback Girl mashup inspired me to make one and even though you didnt make it jonny, I was hoping you and the rest of the adjf crew could give me some tips.I remember you saying its a bitch to get both or however many songs youre using in the mashup at the same tempo in logic, especially compared to ableton, but i have a solution. Beatmatch the songs on my cdjs then record each individual track on to a usb. I cant see anything wrong with that but if there is please tell me. Thinking of using a super hard electro track with a heaps dirty, yet simple bass similar to the Dem Slackers remix, and an accapella and another song more for the intro, outro etc.

LabRat
I do my mashups live. I get more if a kick out of doing it. Especially when people find out that monster mashup you dropped was live and they trip sticks wondering how the fuck you just did what you did
street
ive ended up using 4 different tracks, so doing that live would be interesting, lol.havent a bit of trouble getting each song in the same key. any advice?
LabRat
I've done 3 live lol bit of a sweat but dayum! Lol If you're using a daw there shoul be a pitch and time editor somewhere that will help
street
yeah im using logic and I know how to change it, im just not sure what pitch to change it to. The acapella is more of a sing/talk style so theres not really much of a key to it except for a few sections. I dont know what notes go with which keys but I worked out that the tracks mainly use these notes:intro track: D, E and Gsong used for drop: D#acapella: E, A, B and C (but only for a few vocal melodies, most is that talk style)plus I have an alternative song for the drop which is based around F which I may use if the other one doesn't work. The drops used just have heaps rude, rough dirty basslines with pretty much the one note so theres not a lot of melody to them, but im sure I could make a few little pitch shifts to make it all flow a bit smoother. street
Ive only got logic so I used that, lol. It was way easier than I thought to get the acapella the same bpm as the other tracks.
