andyman Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Watch online tutorials and stuff.I have no idea how to use it, but the likes of Karma, and Tomy should be able to help you out. Quote
Gandy Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 not sure mate, ill be going down the logic route when i get my head around garage band Quote
Jaz Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 depends what you want to use it for....?if its something simply like launching samples and clips during a mix then a "novation launchpad" would be perfect Quote
eggssell Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 im judging from the title he wants to do full dj sets using ableton. Quote
legunner Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 This is the setup i currently use for using ableton live at parties:i have my two speakers hooked up to my 2 channel mixer. then i run my my laptop and my mpd26 through an audio8 soundcard and into one of the channels in the mixer. So what im getting at is replace my mpd26 with an akai apc40 and you are set. the launchpad is okay but it has no knobs or faders so its a very VERY simplistic setup. also check the mixers/boards section for my latest thread about a cool idea for an ableton controller. yizzle Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 What tutorial did you watch Capsss?I been looking at ableton recently, looked at a few things, but they are either...1. Really bad quality video (cant see whats happening)2. 25mins of basic boring loading blah blah3. I feel everyone skips a bit and moves onto more advanced things you 'should know about'[edit]: i just found an ableton 101 Tutorial on another thead of yours. nevermind seems like a good startthanks Quote
wazza Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 livid ohm 64 ...the best thing about the om 64 is it comes with cell DNA....the cell DNA is a Vj software that plug-into Ableton sequencerhttp://img821.imageshack.us/img821/1921/64compsite2.jpg' alt='64compsite2.jpg'>Uploaded with ImageShack.us Quote
legunner Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 the apc 40 is able to do that to, but i think you need another plugin Quote
Ravni Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 ok something else to think aboutusing serato sl4 with the bridge this is my next step I have a novation launchpad and i am thinking of getting the novation nocturn for the time being but the launchpad is good enuff for now, if you get all your levels right for all your samples you just trigger the samples in the launchpadwith serato and the bridge ableton runs in serato and u get to use cdj's as well which i prefer getting serato sl4 this weekend putting it on layby atleast.
