street Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 a typical one is about 8 bars long, so id split them up into this:bars 1 and 2 = 1/4 note hitsbars 3 and 4 = 1/8 note hitsbars 5 and 6 = 1/16 not hitsbar 7 = 1/32 note hitsbar 8 = no drumsbar 9 = MASSIVE DROP!combine that with some white noise sweeps or any build sound youve got and it should do the trick. yizzle Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I just use my Korg Nanopad atm.The little button highlighted in the picture is 'ROLL'The X-Y pad allows you to build up and down, pitch and volume. Its a great way to drum roll a sample or fragment.just a thought? Quote
Tomy Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 hmmm that is awesome. but a lot of money to blow just for a snare roll haha. Quote

yizzle Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 $80 i paid. true if it were just for snare.sometimes my 2 cents is really just a penny's worth Quote
LabRat Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 the way i do them is by following the 1/16 1/32 locators on my sequencer and copy my on shots accordingly Quote
Tomy Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 yeah i'm pretty much all set with the making is speed up thingy. i was thinking more along the lines of accents, LFO's, pitching or any sneaky shit like that. sick of the wind up snare haha. Quote
street Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The strokes on the 1, 2, 3 and 4 of a 1/16th stroke roll are usually accented for drum rolls when talking about drumming in general, but I dont hear it much in edm. so something along the lines of...1 e & a 2 e & a 3 e & a 4 e & a Quote
