imadje Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 yay,,, new residency been on the cards for a while but now that the new academic year has begun our crew have agreed to run nightly events from here on in. http://www.themusiquariumleeds.co.uk/Th ... lcome.htmlI get 1st refusal for most fridays and all saturdays except where an act is bringing their own DJ. So apart from a few weddings i already had booked that puts me behind two cdj900s with my djm 909 every week for about 7 hours again, with a quality band on every week so I get a break too Anyone wanna buy a NS6... jks... It'll still come in handy. Quote
JonnyB Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Lol...epic What club JonnyB???neverland man, the one in collangatta Quote
Mitch Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 so i played at an rsl from 12-1 last night. Rock up, met the DJ there, pretty cool guy. But he didn't really beatmatch anything, just kept hitting hotcues to repeat the vocal drop until the first song ended. But people were diggin it anyway. So i get on at 12, (its my first time using CDJs), and dunno what happened but my beatmatching was just so shit compared to usual for the first couple songs, but i got a bit better as i went along. Probably partly coz i was nervous and the cdjs were similar but pitch faders were so different to use! But the dancefloor kept goin hard coz they were liking my song selection, so that was cool. DJ said he reckons i did good for my first time up there and for how long i'd been DJing, so thats cool.So what I learnt is that i needa get some CDJs, which i intend to purchase very soon Quote
Gandy Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 ^ awesome experience isnt it, a memory you will never forget well done Quote

Hobberz Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Nice one mitch. So I played a bucks party last night, what a wild party. Set up at 5:00 and begun playing at 5:30. 25-40yo blokes so I decided to kick it off with some rock and roll beer songs. Kept an eye on everyone and about 9pm everyone started to get rowdy and into more of a party mode so changed up to some old Wild and MOS tracks before getting into the House and electro. Wasn't to sure on how the dance music would go with these guys but they all started tapping their feet and bopping around the venue and telling me to crank it up which was good. Had some lovely ladies there to run and get drinks for me all night which was good.(cant confirm or deny if these ladies were clothed) So the other entertainment rocks up and hands me a Kings Of Leon cd to play whilst she put on her show. She goes and gets changed and comes out and says actually can you just keep playing what your playing. So she started here show and the track list I played was as followed;Dirty DancerTonight Im Fucking YouLittle Bad GirlBig Booty Bitches Baby Got BackOne of the guys came up after she left and said I see what you done there. Kept up with the house music for a bit longer until there was only 4-5 people left, they just sat around chatting and starting to wind down so I put on some AC/DC, Guns & Roses, Cold Chisel etc and went and got on the piss with them. Got home about 4amThey guys were a loose bunch of lads, bet there would be some sore heads and bank balances after lastnight. They had 7 pit bikes, poker tables, dart boards set up, table tennis table and a jelly pool. All bike were brand new, not one was still running after the night.Chaos from the night* Toilet door on the esky for a ramp into the garden* Pit bikes all pulled apart and one burnt and thrown in the pool* Part of the pool burnt* Few holes in walls* Dart boards and table tennis table in a few pieces* 25 pizza boxes built into a pyramid with some fuel and set on fireI think that was all. Mitch Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Sounds like a hectic night hobberz.Good song choice goin on while the 'entertainment' was there too Quote

Mitch Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just got home from high school disco, went off without a hitch,, nearly.Got there early, had a mate help set up. Went down to pub and had dinner, went back. Start playing, let my mate help out a bit. He's a drummer, so wasn't a total noob, but mainly just fiddled with the levels and EQs lol. All was good until what we think is the connection terminals on the back of one of the speakers was screwing up (was pretty much fucked when we got it) so we were left with one speaker working. Still seemed loud enough though. Just played mainstream/mainstream remixes til close til 9, with the odd request thrown in.Then i did the classics, macarena, grease megamix, michael jackson, little bit of 90's etc etc. which absolutely everyone was up for so that was good. Then the last half hour i swung it back to top40 remixes. Even though they weren't the originals people were digging the mixing anyway, so just played whatever (didn't have originals for half the songs lol). Finished with some party rock shufflin, and everybody left on a good note. Night can be deemed a success, everyone was happy with the music Quote
imadje Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 great work Mitch, who needs stereo anyway Quote
