If there's a reasonable amount of couples or single drunk people, you can't go wrong with always/Bon jovi. Skip the 2 seconds of drums and have the guitar drop at midnight. Rapes auk ward sigh any day.

Did a 50th tonight, really good to get a break from the top 40.

Played everything from phil Collins to B-52's to ac dc

It's nice that im not out of my element when it comes to oldies stuff, my parents raised me by it (especially my dad)

First time performing with time code too, so much more continent.

HOWEVER

for some reason It didn't load my iTunes playlist. So I had to keep iTunes open and drag songs onto the decks.

It will be great when I finally get an x1, touching the computer all the time quickly becomes annoying.

Still, overall it was a great night, and got heaps of positive feed back, most of em weren't intoxicated too!

Did a 21st tonight. Went fairly smoothly. Played chillout for the first hour and a bit then when they hit the lights, played mostly mainstream for the rest of the night.

Was getting positive feedback from the crowd which was good.

Only one screwup was one of the tracks I downloaded from dj city has a skip in it and it through my beatmatching out, and also caused a vocal clash which was pretty gay. Will have to remember to re download it.

I played my first gig at a new place in the city last night, played 10-11 which was pretty early but there was still a few around which was good. Went pretty well, played prog house for the first 20 mins then a bit harder stuff which was good brought a few more onto the floor.. had 2 bitches keep asking me to play skrillex about 1000 times which was pissing me off but apart from that it was good. Hopefully get more work there but hopefully later sets

Friday - my plan was to stay indoor's all night and practise my set, get it down pat. end up going to a party....stayed strong didn't drink. but when we got home we chucked on dude where's my car and proceeded to get stoned..... didn't get to sleep till 3am.

Sat morning - Ok so for the morning the plan was. we would leave my house at 9:30 drive into sydney CBD to the box office, pick up our car pass to park on the grounds, drive to my friends house to pick some shit up, leave his house by 11am and make it to stereo by around 12 or a bit before.....well that didn't happen.

woke up at 9:30 with a bongover (was supposed to be walking out the door at this time.) there is 4 of us, we decide to split up, take 2 cars, 2 of us would go to my mates (me and my mate, who double's as my manager) and the other 2 would go to the box office and get the car pass. probaly left just after 10.

ok so we get to my mates and get a call from the other 2 saying 'there is no car pass, the people don't have it' we make a few calls. they end up checking every reception the building has, we start to freak out, calling people trying to track this thing down, by now its 11. We call the management, and get transferred a few times and get put to this guy at the very front reception who recon's he is holding it in his hand. our mates run down and grab it (what a fuck around, don't know why we didn't get it off him the very first time) mates arrive at ours at about 12 and we leave straight away (have to start at 12:45.

we get their and there is road works around the place and we have no idea where the parking is, its about, 12:30, me and my mate/manager bail from the car and start demanding security guards to let us through the fence, it works, run around trying to find the bass arena, get there at about 12:40......so fukin close.

anyway, get into the arena, there is about 10 people at the front, and maybe another 15/20 scattered over the rest of the hall, glovecats finish i take over and start off with some glitch hop, nervous as fuck at the moment, 1 or 2 tracks later, i see some guy screaming at me waving his phone, couldn't see it and he screams ADJF......ITS DFLUX YO.....hahaha, first time i met him, and the last time i saw him all day.

then get into some mombacore, feeling a little relaxed now, the crowd is growing pretty quickly, and a bunch of familiar faces are starting to pop up, i knew pretty much the whole front row.and a few back in some parts. after 15 minutes i change to dustup and go from there. Feels a little weird being up on the stage, mainly because in a club everyone is just dancing doing their own thing, but here, almost EVERY WHALE is looking at you, facing your direction.

Anyway all is going good, starting to drop some heavier tracks when BAM disaster..... rushing to get the next track prepped mixed with all the other crazy shit happening i bump the cue button on the track playing, dead silent for about 1.5 seconds (seemed about a full minute) quickly restarted the same song (it happened just after the first drop came) first half of the build i was just kind of shaking my head/nervouse laughing, looking at my mates on the side of the stage mouthing 'how the fuck did i manage to do that' anyway tried amping the crowd up a bit, they responded.... after that i start droping heavier shit like dubsidia, the crowd is at about 200, it felt like 1000 but looking back on the footage its probaly 200 ish.... bombs away come on and tell me to play a few more while they set up. drop my last track and at that point people were streaming in the doors, mostly to see bombs away but in the last few minutes there was so many people there it was bullshit.

anyway, sadly i pretty much met no big name dj's i spent most of my time chilling in VIP area's - no drink line, no one in the toilets, pimping! spent heaps of time on the side of stage trying to get sneaky footage with out getting caught

all in all fucking awesome day cept for the 1 hiccup.

Another friend of mine suffered and epileptic fit, so I guess I need to display a warning next time I use my laser. I got a follow up gig one of the guests, plus his dad says his workmates kids 18ths are Comming up so he'll pass them my card.

Did an 18th tonight, was pretty crap.

Alot of people didn't turn up, and it was a big venue so it felt like hardly anyone was there, Probly 30-40 people, with half been family.

Had a few dancing, but then the birthday girls boyfriend was been a cockhead and there was a fight and birthday girl started crying, so then everyone left real early, was all finished up by 12.

They were happy enough with the music though, sucks it had to end early like that though, if people actually turned up it was a real good venue and setup.

Friday:

2.02 hope on the train in wollongong and make my way to the airport, train is full of gronks going to eminem, want to roundhouse kick everyone of them

3:10: get to the airport and check in, have a last durrie before i bored:

4:10 takeoff

4:30(qld time) arrive in coolangatta, mate/fellow dj picks me up, and we go back to his swinging by the bottleo. get back to his meet a few of his crew, drinking commences, somewhere amongst this we wonder down to sushi train, get a little feed then continue drinking.

9:00 we head to the club and get shit sorted for the night. people start coming in, already a few people around looking preety good.

10:00 first dj comes on (huntah) fuckin mad WHALE, plays a ful glitch hop set and its some funky as fuck shit,,,,check out his soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/huntah.

11:00 next dj 'that loose kid' comes on, this is the dude that mainly runs things (will just point out here, there are kind of 3 guys that run it, they are all about 22, all dj as well, and they all like to get loose, makes it so much more fun when the guys that book you are the guys you play along side and party with) things start to get a bit heavier, starting to get pretty pee by now!.

12:00 time for me to start, pretty packed by now and everyone is getting loose, plenty of chicks too, acahly there was heaps. Start of with some heavy mombahcore and it went down really fucking well!. change it to dubstep after 15 min and start droping bombs like Doctrine's remix of Big Boss and sinister soul's remix of limp bizket - breakstuff. after about 30-40 min's my usb shits itself, so i have to start playing some old school shit from cd's, plenty of old school rusko and DZ, the crowd loved it thankfully.

1:00 i finish, eat a pinga and Bass Slime takes to the stage and starts to tear shit up...20 min's later im out the front tearing through ciggies haha!, go back inside after a bit and eat another pinga. felling real good haha.

2:00 comes and Shixa takes the stafe for the final set, still plenty of people around as well which is good for the night, means they will be having more events in the future. Shixa is killing it, im wondering around, going behing the decks and jumping around to pump the crowd up. raving on the DF, having plenty of people shout me drink's. loving life.

3:00 night finish's and we close up the club and head back to their joint with a crew of about 10 of us.

5:00 were back at home and no one is keen to sleep so we move the loungeroom into the front yard, do a dodgy extention cord job and get the decks and some big speakers set up out the front as well.....were set for an awesome day.... we have the music pumping by 8am, more pingas are eaten....cops get called on us at about 10:00 and tell us to turn it down or they will confiscate the decks.....we tone it down a bit and chuck on a J5 mixtape, head down to the bottleo and buy a case of jimbeam and udl's(awesome morning drink, never liked them much before) and we continue drinking.

11:00 someone gets a pair of scissors and we all end up gettng rusko mowhawks (still repping it)

12:00 the music is back up by this point and were roasting in the sun, such a pefect day, more pingas, more drinks.

2:00 everyone starts fading away, the last few of us head inside, clean up and roll some big fatty's and light up.

3:00 incredibly stoned. sleep deprived and still wired. get ready to go to the airport.

3:40 get to the airport, have a filthy mowhawk, look like ive just come off a 5 day bender, and im looking like a lobster thanks to the sun. go to check in and i miss my check in by 2 minutes. fucking spewing, next flight isnt till 7:40 and it cost's an extra $80 to change the flight, what a rip off, so i just sit out the front listning to music and smoking ciggies for 3.5 hours. the time comes to finally board. The flight is full of schoolie gronks.... fucking wankers.. all of em haha

7:10 board the flight, everyone taking their seat's i get a window, fucking score! i also get 2 older people next to me, another win, dont have to deal with kids talking about how awesome bedroom's or shooters is and how they fingered some chick on the beach, shut up whales. so think its going good then people sit down behind me and they have a baby that wont SHUT THE FUCK UP, and its kicking the back of my chair....it does this non stop for 20minutes while we get ready for take off. wanted to turn around grab it by its face walk outside and punt it into the jet engine......was the last thing i needed.

Thankfully when we took off it fell asleep straight away.

get in to sydney 10:00pm nsw time. catch a train to north sydney and walk the final 2km of the journey to home, get home at 11:30pm, just as my housemates are heading into the cross with some other mates from down kiama way. try convince me to go out, tell em to get fucked.

stay up till 5:30am watching useless doco's they get home, i smoke a ciggie with them, go inside, hop in bed, open laptop, write this up for your reading pleasures and now its time for me to get into a sleep coma.
