next planned upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so my next planned upgrade for my gear will be:

a traktor s4

a dedicated macbook pro

Traktor s4 bag (from dj tech tools)

$1070 (for s4

$600 (for macbook pro, after education discount and claiming under education rebate)

$130

TOTAL: $1800

the reason Im steering towards the s4 is because its simple easy and portable setup I can even take interstate as carry on luggage.

One of the things im worried about though is cpu usage, I want to be able to do everything I need to and not limit myself because of my computer.

I spose if I keep getting these issues, I can take it back for a refund and get something else.

So what do you guys think? I know you want me to get some cdj's but im really a controllers to be honest.

any opinions or constructive criticism?

i have a couple mates with s4's and they absolutley love it. Wouldnt worry about the processing power of the macbook pro, as long as you get the latest one it will be fine, the specs may not seem as good as laptop with windows but osx runs totally diff to w7 i bought mine last year and it still goes hard when i used to have traktor running plus multiple other things running at the same time

i say go for it

im assuming using an S4 adds no more cpu useage to using anything w traktor, so in that case i think you'll be fine with the latest.

a lot of us are using 5 or more year old machines and have no issues.

damn thats a good price. do you have to be full time? i may need to start my japanese up at tafe again ;)
