fackedd Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 You dont have to buy something new, you can get some good stuff second hand like people have suggested in this thread already. Quote
ranga97 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 I dont really like gettin stuff with no warranty tho.And I'm only 14 so no parties till im 15 Quote
Jaz Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 you've gotta work out if warranty is worth the extra couple of hundred it "will" cost you...plus if your doing party's alcohol spilled on your gear is not covered under warranty lol Quote
andythemusician Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Yeah, that is when insurance will come in handy. But you most certainly pay for that.(My public liability and equipment insurance came up last week. Sad times in my bank account) Quote
Jaz Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Yeah, that is when insurance will come in handy. But you most certainly pay for that.(My public liability and equipment insurance came up last week. Sad times in my bank account)yeh i just put my shit under house insurance when i was mobile DJing so if someone spilt a drink on my shit...it happened at home Quote
ranga97 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 ok,can i ask a question?what is the chance of equipment randomly failing Quote
legunner Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 the question you just asked is extremely flawed, if it is randomly failing then it can happen 4 times in one night ornever happen at all, that swhy you play it safe and get decent equipment Quote
ranga97 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 thats what i mean.if i buy decent 2nd hand (like a pioneer cdj200 or denon gear) and it breaks (nothing to do with me) what the chance of that ^ Quote
Jaz Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Denon and pioneer are built pretty tough, they know there gear may get mistreated and bashed around...it's the cheap plastic no name brands u gotta worry about Quote
fackedd Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 what jaz and karma said.If you buy second hand pio gear it's usually pretty good.I bought a djm 800 end of last year for $1200 (before the price drop) and it had a bit of wear and tear on the surface but seemed fine. Although I had to get all 4 faders repaired last week because they started to fuck up. I think it was used in a club or some shit though. If your buying second hand gear from a person using it for bedroom banging and the odd mobile gigs then you will have no worrys with it failing. Quote
Jaz Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 all my gear is second hand, cdj400's. djm800, behringer monitors etc all works fine... Quote
ranga97 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 ^ Pretty sure thats what makes a no good dj Quote
ranga97 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 HAHA yea I savin up for a decent system, maybe a USB or CD system under the $700 mark, and after I do some parties I might be able to upgrade to a better system. Quote
