I've done a gig where the mixer didn't have any knobs from channel faders just the little bits of metal sticking out.

Didn't make much of a difference but was still hilarious haha.

The worst thing was it was my first transition.

I had mixed feelings; I didn't know whether to Jesus pose and feel like a mad WHALE, or hide in the corner with part of their mixer in my hands haha.

I have a question - is there ever a sound tech on site at any of the clubs in sydney? i'm not talking big venues like home night club or something... but your average run of the mill club.

nope hahah. Same in brisbane.

Im guessing that's the case with most places. so when shit fucks up, you're fucked pretty much.

Unless it's a big nightclub like you said.

in my experience sound techs generally have work habits like the cleaners.

they get it all ready for you before you come, they miss the party, then they clean up all the mess after you've been.

no wonder they're such a bunch of grumpy kents, the poor sods.
