Skank Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 well i just got booked to play a huge gig in 2 months its a gay and lesbo shindig they have already sold 600 tickets one problem is ive never played to a queer audience and i just wanna know if you guys have had any problems or issues have come up im happy that they dont want commercial unlike every hotel in sydney the first sign i thought somthing might be a bit how ya doing is when they told us they only want pioneer dj gear at the venue because its the "best" and looks good if all things go good i might walk away with a couple of lezbos if not i could be walkling with a limp lol Quote
Genetic Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 well i don't think that there would be any huge issues just if a chick requests a song be careful how you handle it cos they might have a bull dyke for a girlfriend Quote
Tomy Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 last time i played something like that it was a pretty commercial crowd, so make sure your ready for it. ie: pussy cat dolls, britney etc. Quote
D4DirtyRadio Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Hey mate, haha good luck! My advice..wear three layers of dacks, ha ha! Also, Would you be able to promote D4Dirty Radio at the gig? if so get in touch with me: d4dirtyradio@gmail.com Quote
tubby Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 have you asked the promoter what sort of stuff they expect? just cos it's G&L crowd doesn't mean they want kylie and crap. Quote
Skank Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 they said they are gunna be off thier heads on gear so they want dance and techno electro even minimal so im gunna cover the elctro minimal tech and my mates got the commercial dance house thing its a 6 hour gig and im gunna be two drunk to do it on my own hahai can promote what ever you need promoting Quote
D4Dirty Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Dont be afraid to throw in some wacky tracks man. Like you said its mostly about the gear, they want an energetic set with a few surprises. If your mixing is top notch, maybe a pet shop boys bootleg, or a trippy kylie bootleg if they exist?Just dont order a pink champagne. Quote
