Jaz Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 it can't be any worse than his current electro-pop.oh trust me...it can Quote
eggssell Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 yeah i know strange how things change. member when a lot of y'all werent feeling the dubstep (check yer old posts!) Quote
gcdj Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 i dont know if its just me but i feel as if alot of the big pop artists are now trying to take over other genres. i find it pretty annoying when a pop artist steals a house, electro etc. producers beat and doesnt even give them a mentioneg. Quote
Jaz Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 fucking hate pitbullim sure you've heard chris browns - beautiful people...its pretty housey...also look at that britney spears song that had dub in it...fucking failed Quote
LabRat Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 They're all goin dubstep or electro. Heard a hip hop remake of show me love - horrible. Beyonce killed Pon de floor! Stupid bitch Quote
eggssell Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 what about when edm artists get rappers to rap on their tracks, or turntablists to provide some scratches, or when they sample some classic track. thats shit too yeah. Quote
ShabangRecords Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I voted " i think it will be good" by accident.i don't think this; although this sort of shit could kill dubstep in most country's ie Aus & Uk as we all tend to turn the other way when it comes to commercial music.however! in saying that if your writing dubstep push everything you've got into the states right now! RichoKidd Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Sampling should only be okay in Hip Hop. And all my mates HATED dubstep until Britany did it, they don't even know what good dub is Quote
eggssell Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 richo house music has always used sampling. and edm is still rich with sampling. check frederick mooij's eternal elect album. frraking awesome disco/funk/house album. with samples from some classic 90s tracks. Quote
andyman Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Beyonce's latest song is a blatant rip off of Major Lazer. Quote
eggssell Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 how is it a rip off if switch (from major lazer) produced the beats for beyonce? Quote
Jaz Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 well its not just the beat, its literally pon de floor with beyonce singing over it Quote
eggssell Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 i know but beyonce didnt rip it off if switch came and said hey lets do this joint.yeah otay i guess they should have called it a remix or something as opposed to a new single Quote

LabRat Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 After reading the interview from shockone in our local street press (x-press mag) I reckon we all whinge too much lol I'm just going to let shit be and just keep on producing and spinning the way I do. I figured if we keep on talking shit, we are no better then all the people jumping on the band wagon. We should start to appreciate that our styles have actually broken into the mainstream. This all started ages ago. Remember Better Off Alone by Alice DJ? Hip hop guys turned that into some gangster step tune and it wasn't too bad. That's my rant lol Quote
Gandy Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 spitfire this is no place to be showboating with logic and reason! Quote
