Expressions of interest: Near New Technics 1200 MK6s

Hey guys

my mate is looking to maybe offload his nearly brand new 1200 Mk6s and ortofon s 120 carts.

you could only ever buy these models in japan, and they were only released for a really limited time - these are some of the only mk6s in australia. mint condition, they are only about 5 months old.

he paid like 1500 each for them - anyone want to make an offer?

Whats the difference between the mk 6 and the previous mk5 g i think was the previous model ?

mk5g is bad for dj'ing, the digital pitch adjust is very inaccurate.

improvements over the mk5 (not mk5g) are that the mk6 have are better tonearm, better vibration dampening, more accurate pitch adjust and some minor cosmetic changes.

MK6 models

SL-1200MK6-K & SL-1200MK6-S (released in February 2008 in Japan) with minor improvements including improved tonearm mounting and oxygen-free copper wire being used for the signal, improved vibration damping in the body, improvements to the pitch control accuracy and better LEDs. -S model has a silver finish like the MK2.

note though (and i coulda mixed up numbers but im pretty sure tubby told me once) the MK6 having only been released in japan, does not have the adjustable voltage switch like the other models. meaning you will need not just a convertor but also a transformer.

of course thats not really a bigg deal.

yeah, he has the step down transformer that he will include if someone buys it . its really small as well, like 200g
