Recently I've been looking at getting into a bit of production, mainly producing hip hop beats and such. Just was curious as to what equipment YOU all think I will need. This is my plan

- NI Maschine + Softwear (For darty dirty drums)

- Midi Controller (Suggest which one I should be looking at, affordable price)

- Running through MacBook Pro

- Studio Monitors

- Bass Guitar cause Midi Bass = Poo

What else do I need cause this is all that springs to mind

Help a fella out?

Monitors is the only thing i could add, i meen once you get full into it and more experienced different midi controllers will obviously come in handy, but for just starting out that sounds good man :)

I own THE comfiest chair ever ey. Its a leather swivel comp chair with a full back and a lean. So darty. Yeah forgot I wanted monitors. Any suggestions as to which Midi Cntrlr to go with?

ive barely used the bastard cause im a lazy sod but from what ive seen my mpk49 is just a great alround controller...there are other members with 1, maybe tomy, CBG, or wazza i think

And how much is the MPK49. Roughly?

Also I wana spend about 2k over time. Probs start with the maschine and use that to make "$50dollabangers" and change my name to "DJ$50dollaholla"

Then with the money I make go get the midi controller

alot of top producers dont. i seen rusko's set up a few years back and he had like a 10yr old pc i couldnt see any sign of decent monitors, he had a mic and an old midi controlller, im sure he has probaly upgraded but back then he was still making sick tunes on that set up.

also on a note on production richo i just posted a song in the electro section, that's an example of a remix i made entirely with ableton, my macbook and my apple mouse.
