RichoKidd
Sup DartsRecently I've been looking at getting into a bit of production, mainly producing hip hop beats and such. Just was curious as to what equipment YOU all think I will need. This is my plan- NI Maschine + Softwear (For darty dirty drums)- Midi Controller (Suggest which one I should be looking at, affordable price)- Running through MacBook Pro- Studio Monitors- Bass Guitar cause Midi Bass = PooWhat else do I need cause this is all that springs to mindHelp a fella out?RK
Jaz
Monitors is the only thing i could add, i meen once you get full into it and more experienced different midi controllers will obviously come in handy, but for just starting out that sounds good man

ChevChelios
You definately dont need all that gear man, I'd just get some software to start with and see if you enjoy it. Kinda pointless wasting all that cash if you end up giving it up in a week.
JonnyB
what chev said, even if you keep with it you dont need it all, ive been on it for 3 years and have never had any hardwear, i dont even have monitors, just a comfy chair, a laptop and logic

JonnyB
alot of top producers dont. i seen rusko's set up a few years back and he had like a 10yr old pc i couldnt see any sign of decent monitors, he had a mic and an old midi controlller, im sure he has probaly upgraded but back then he was still making sick tunes on that set up.
