Robert20 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I was wondering if I should come up with a DJ name and use that or just use my name. If I do use a DJ name it will be DJ Reveille but I might just use my real name. What do you guys think and what do you do? Quote
pundaddy Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Use whatever you feel is right, alot of artists are ditching the "DJ" prefix these days and thats just the way things are going, doesnt at all mean that you have to not use it, just do whatever you want man, doesn't matter if you're killing it anyway. awesome88 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 you'll probably get a nickname along the line you can use if you want anyway Quote
dim Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I used to call myself DJ Jim and then add the name of whatever club or act i was working for as surname eg:dj jim obviousdj jim cushiondj jim basicsdj jim bluefootbut a typo saved me so now i'm justdjim bluefootand it's stuck for now. Quote

Hobberz Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 im just karma, not dj karma.dislike the dj pre-fix. but it's a personal preference.I'm not a fan of the whole DJ thing. I use the DJ pre-fix on my facebook page solely for people who don't know me or know what I am advertising. Quote
andyman Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Ditch the DJ.Mines "Andy Smith" haha.I'm trying the whole European name out, just a shame Smith is a boring last name lol. Quote

Gandy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 im just karma, not dj karma.dislike the dj pre-fix. but it's a personal preference.I'm not a fan of the whole DJ thing. I use the DJ pre-fix on my facebook page solely for people who don't know me or know what I am advertising.agree with this, the only reason i have "DJ" prefixing my fanpage/soundcloud Quote
RichoKidd Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I'm not a fan of the whole DJ thing. I use the DJ pre-fix on my facebook page solely for people who don't know me or know what I am advertising.I also agree with this, the thing is most DJs these days are also Producers & Remixers. I can't think of many big names who aren't producing their own tracks. DJ is just so people know WHAT you do. Quote

eggssell Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 but for real. dj is a title of someone who plays pre made music be it your own or others. whether its in yer name or not is irrelevant. Quote
