I've found myself getting reliant on waveforms and getting way to comfortable selecting my tracks within Traktor. My beatmatching skill is washing away by simply matching bpm readings rather than actually listening.

I'm quitting traktor, and just straightup using 2 cdj, CDs, and a mixer. Clean. Simple.

you can disable the BPM counter in TSP in the layout configuration.

did you learn with old fashioned vinyl though? its easier to develop lazy habits when you have it easy from the start.

nup i learnt with a behringer bcd3000 then cdjs. i just dont find it hard at all

I learnt on vinyls then moved to CDJs.

I added Traktor Scratch Pro because I loved how big but light my record box became.

Thing is i still treat the laptop like a record box so i just dont look at it when I'm mixing, never have.

this ^ except i look at the screen, to find tracks and set loops, fire off cues.

Traktor shouldn't be persived as making a DJ's job easier when it comes to Beatmatching, it makes access to music and adding effects easier. Thats about it
