Warehouse in Canberra

Went over to Canberra the other day for the Warehouse festival yesterday at Canberra. Before I went heaps of people told me its shit and not a good festival, but fuck them, it was off the chain hey. Obviously it didn't get the same crowds as big festivals like Future, Parklife, We Love etc... But that made it better I thought.

It was held at the AIS in the enclosed stadium, then a seperate stage in a small tent outside. The sound quality at every stage was really good compared to outdoor festivals, no matter where you stood it was all in sync, compared to when I was at Future just recently and the outdoor stages sucked if you were off centre.

Dada Life played in the small tent, and they tore it to shreds. Skrillex was pretty funny, a whole lot of people didn't know what the fuck was going on. Was happy that he mixed it up and didn't play all his songs, from what I remember he played some Bare Noize and Trolley Snatcha. So many fuckhead lads in there though. Deadmau5 was everthing I had expected. Got front and centre for the show and yeah, the new mask, new light show was intense. Its a shame his computer had a spaz at the end of his set when he dropped Strobe, then tried playing one of his new tracks and it fucked up again so he ran out and chucked his iPhone into the ground haha.

Anyway, for anyone thinking of going next year I recommend it ay!

Yeah it was pretty funny to watch. Was annoying though, I was loving strobe haha then it just stopped and made like a grinding/saw sound, at first everyone thought he meant it because he started doing echo effects and stuff lol... then the lights went off and he started playing one of his new tracks, just near the drop the same thing happened and he threw his arms up, then sorta walked to the front of the stage and gestured that it fucked up, bowed, and then threw his iphone into the ground of the stage haha.

Yeah, was a great night.

Agreed about Dada Life. Best set on the Terrace stage all night.

Martin Solveig started a bit slow in the Arena but totally kicked arse later in his set.

Skrillex was pretty full on from the start.

And Deadmau5 just showed the future of DJ sets. Graphics were amazing as well as the guest singer, stage setup, etc.

I heard a couple of the official photographers were a bit pissed off because Dead didn't allow any of them on stage or backstage during his performance. After seeing his show I can understand why. Whole thing was epic.

But drinks were a ripoff and food was almost non-existent.

One of the DJs cancelled in the Terrace stage but no announcement was made which would have pissed of some of the fans.

Yeah Dada Life were ridiculous, such a filthy set haha.

Drinks are always pretty expensive at festivals though, so I expected that.

We were right up the front left for Skrillex, and it was pretty mental when he stage dived right on top of us, everyone lost their shit!
