legunner Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 respect to the "original aboriginal" userssup still haven't setup my traktor lolthats pimpin' Quote
awesome88 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 cupes life is so dj, he buys traktor to use as a coaster Quote
eggssell Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 this poll was always going to have a bunch of grey area's just choose an option and explain why in your post.....simple yeah?not really. you have to remember just because they are both made by Native Instruments, how you DJ using traktor is not the same as how you dj with traktor scratch pro.just because awesome has been using traktor with his denon for a number of months now, there would probably be a steep learning curve if he were to come over to my place and try to use tsp with turntableson the otherhand if i were to go over to cupes and have a go on his turnies, the learning curve will be a lot lower.so i think dvs' have nothing to do with controller djing. in fact using an all in one with platters is actually more akin to using cdjs. i.e its the same feel and process. eggssell Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 and fer the record, i aint bigging up or putting down any method. y'all seen my rants. im a tsp user and proud; and i embrace djs of all styles.peace. back to the electionVote 1 pedro Quote

Jaz Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 this poll was always going to have a bunch of grey area's just choose an option and explain why in your post.....simple yeah?Exactly right, i meen if i had to inlcude everything the poll would be 20 options long...i meen it says software, that could include anything music related include anything...i just thought about it this way, if you have vinyl tables and use DVS then your relying on the software and without the software your tables wont play music (if you dont own records, see below), but without the turntables your software will still play music so you should choose the software option...all of that is of coarse if you dont have rekidz, but if you do have both then you should just choose what your use most cleared up? eggssell Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 so your poll is about what media you use not how you dj? Quote
Jaz Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 yes because if it was how you DJ there would be options likeI use Vinyl mode on CDJ'sI Use CDJ ModeI scratchI Use Mainly Hot Cue'sI Beat Juggleetc Quote
JonnyB Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 agree with jaz and disagree with eggs. it is simple tbh.just choose what youd class yourself as, a vinyl, a cdj or a software dosent matter if you use 2 or all three, youd class yourself more of one then the other, so just choose, then make a post explaining what you actually use and how you use it.this thread could of been full of people ecplaining what they use instead of people arguing why the poll is wrong.i use cdj's thats pretty much it Quote
eggssell Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 fair enuff. i use turntables so picked number one cuz i use tsp Quote
JonnyB Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 wasnt so hard was it ahh i hate doing this, i love arguing too much, i look for things to argue over on here, sorry eggsell Quote
eggssell Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 ha ha as i said no beef. and if you read my second post ihad no question as to which category i fit in. ie software dj. i just thought the thread was about what equip you use and someone using a dvs with turnies or cdjs has nothing to do with controllers. which is why i questioned it. Gandy Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 cdjs mite as well throw my lappy and tsp in the bin never use it anymore Quote
Jaz Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 CD Tables are well out in front...this thread will be good to bump as evertime new members join they can vote Quote
LabRat Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 My vote is vinyl coz I love it. But I use cd players 80% of the time Quote
dim Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 read the whole thread for once. at gigs it's cdjs (coz they wont skip) controlling traktor in absolute mode/no syncing (coz I'm oldskool but want a large library thats ez to find the track i want in) with a hercules steel to browse and do fx and shit (coz everyone likes pushing buttons too)... but at my yard at my party: 1210s with original scratchy uk rave and jungle vinyls from 1989 to 1994.but... if....and when i .... plus it may change soon so possibly.............aaaa, fuck it, option 1. RichoKidd Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I would say atm, Pure vinyl but with money I plan to be Software Quote
Ravni Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 cdj's at home and at gigs and run ableton as well to trigger loops and samples so where does that fit in? Quote
J0rdz Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I use both CDJs and Vinyl.... no option for that. I've been using CDJs a lot more in clubland though. Quote
tubby Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 at home it's a pretty even mix of all of the above. depends on what sort of mood I'm in.tsp with control records when I'm just mixing the newer stuff since I rarely by new vinyl, midi control if I'm looping, hot cueing trying to be creative, cd's whenever it means moving stuff around Quote
