legunner Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 also sometimes in the middle of my set il drop a song like "the next episode" and everyone just goes off Quote
awesome88 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 karma try knas episode... it's epic, especially cos it's easy to mix into your electro set. It's knas that drops into next episode Quote
legunner Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 yeah i know but i don't like that mashup hey, i don't know why. i just backspin the reverb the 1sst song out then just play the intro to next episode. Get's a great response Quote
dim Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 hey sol, you know you have to let us all know how this gig went yeah? Quote
Funky_Steve Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Check with the customer first, but see if top 40, rock, r&b, classic party tracks, etc are Ok to play as well. Then play them in sets of 3 or 4 tracks from each genre, starting with the slower track first and building up to the faster track. Then work out the coolest way to drop the tempo agan for the genre change. Quote
SolDios Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Of course ;D there will be a whole zero to hero on it Quote
legunner Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 this set is gonna be your best way to gain valuable experience infront of a crowd. they are going to love it if you keep the dance floor moving, which means if there are heaps of people on the dance floor try not to do any unneccessary breaks in the tracks, try keep the bass drum kicking for a while. dim Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 hey sol i just thought, in case you havent done this already...take all the kit you are going to use at this gig apart, pack it in bags, pack it in the car, drive round the block then unpack it and set it all up again. Did everything fit in the bags? Did you have everything you needed? did everything work again? how long did it take you? practising mixing is well and good but if you're mobile you've also got to be able to set your gear up in a reasonable amount of time without too much soundchecking/troubleshooting... In a nutshell: it may sound wierd but it's worth practising the load in and set up too. Quote
