hey, so I have my first gig coming up in about a month at a 16th. :S theres going to be kids with drinks and I do not want them ANYWHERE near my mixer.

any suggestions for a cheap barrier. I was thinking like poles with red rope going between them like in lines. then it would look at-least half classy...

Surround your setup with pedo bear? :teef:

Try and use the room to your advantage, put yourself in a corner so you only have to worry about the front. You could get a facade that stops anyone being able to reach your table, and also it makes your shit look better being covered up.

Put your setup on the table, in the corner room, have a sign saying "No drinks on the table"

and if your really that worried get a mate to help you out, standing near the table, keeping guys away.

If you were using your own table and that shit i would sort out some plywood and put it up on the table to make a booth setup, hide the wires and protect your shit

I saw a mobile dj once who had some of those tall orange bollards like you see at road works. He covered them with black material and found some nice black rope to go in between. Looked really good (and cheap)!

LOL Crundyy.

Just make up sign dude, if you see someone walking towards your gear with a drink than stop them. If they don't listen then just turn the music off until they decide they will play by your rules. :D

he makes a good point, if crundyys fighting every WHALE there like he does on the weekends no ones going to be able to touch your gear

I have always thought about how to keep idiots away from my decks, i find the best thing i ever did was get my cdj's in a road stand and stand it up using a keyboard stand, then there is no room for idiot to leave there drinks.

I had most success with that but in your situation i think what the boys mentioned above would work just fine

that sounds alright but a keyboard stand it probly less stable then a table, spesh when a DJM800, 2CDJ900's and a roadcase can weigh like 60KG+

how did yoou find it?

yeah i remember considering that setup, but what if someone bumps the table

ah got the same set up and its quite scary to see ur shit almost fall of the stand so thats why i use two piano stands now lol
