nah mate im in the commercial circle, but sucks i know how hard it was before the cuts, AND IT DEVALUES OUR SMALL INDUSTRY!!!

the medical/pharamceutical industry in aus is piss poor, its a disgrace yet we pump out some of the best research in the world,

it filters down to industry as well, if the unis dont progress you dont get new technology or new startups, almost all small biotechs in aus started as a spin up company from a uni project

thats why we loose our talent to overseas and i think im gonna do the same and go to europe, undervalued in this current economic climate.

i dont think its the climate mate, i think its always been. there is no apetite for it in australian budgets, so you can never do sceince for the money in australia. even though its more difficult and more beneficial then half the industries out there!

so many promising companies have wound up since GFC, simply cause the first thing to go in hard economic times is R&D In the last two years 4 jobs have been advertised across australia for what I do i know its also a hidden market but thats just a fukin joke.

this is a long shot but from what i hear there are no such thing as good pills any more in brissy might not be the same in other states but most pills are usually smacky which is shit house for people that want to dance on them etc. thus leading people to other drugs such as GBH and coke etc.

just a theory. might why clubs are hurting all over aus to at the moment.

mdma (good pills) = smacky

if you just wanna be up and dancing around crazy, might as well get speed/base... it's cheaper

yea, i will admit that they feel to be more smacky fucked up now, as apposed to smacky lovey.... i thought it was just me, but true... not like they were even a few years ago...

sure you get fucked up, but you don't have the "i wanna lie in a pile of naked people" feeling

No way that's the case dude! People dont go out purely because of the drugs. Fuck man, that's the type of mentality that's given the scene such a bad name to begin with. Personally, I go to an event based purely on lineup, music format and the venue it's being held at. Fucking the quality of drugs has nothing to do with it. Although, this might be the case with younger punters? If so, that's really really sad to hear.

If anything it's the government that's hurting the clubs the most. Bullshit liquor licensing laws, and as a result increased drink prices, stupid imposed curfews (atleast in Brisbane and they trialed them in Melb too) and so on.

oh. so people arent saying:

im peaking, r u peaking, i think i can feel it, yeah man, yeah man, i am peaking. i love you guys. group hug then group jumping around.

then about an hour later, repeat but with more i love yous then are you peaking.

then later in the night start asking why! why are people so mean. why arent things like the old days. why are companies so greedy. why dont parents listen to us. why is their war.

then agree on the one thing:

no matter what man, i love you.....

We wanna go somewhere else. We're not threatened by people anymore. All our insecurities have evaporated. We're in the clouds now. We're wide open. We're spacemen orbiting the earth. The world looks beautiful from here, man. We're nympholeptics, desiring for the unobtainable. We risk sanity for moments of temporary enlightenment. So many ideas. So little memory. The last thought killed by anticipation of the next. We embrace an overwhelming feeling of love. We flow in unison. We're together. I wish this was real. We want a universal level of togetherness, where we're comfortable with everyone. We're in rhythm. Part of a movement. A movement to escape. We wave goodbye. Ultimately, we just want to be happy. Heh, yeah, hang on, what the fuck was I just talking about?

should have asked what it's like being a professional finger painter, then proceeded to tell her that all teachers are bludgers and over payed.

that would have gone down like a lead balloon :)
