just about to start the process of burning my library to cd in itunes, doing one song per cd

whats the diff between burning it as an audio cd using sound check and cd text and burning as a mp3 ?

Well correct me if Im wrong but...

Soundcheck: makes sure all your audio is at the save volume level, so some songs arent louder than others.

Cd text: Im not entirely sure, but Im pretty sure it just imbeds the ID3 tag (the name of song) and all of that into the file.

Mp3: the only difference here is really quality and comparability. If your burning mp3s, make sure they are burnt at 320 kbs, (the highest quality) for mp3s. Personally, I like my wav format, it may not be comparable with everything like mp3, but there's only a 0.3% difference from cd quality.

Im pretty sure sound check fucks with your EQ's and waveforum so i dont use it, id just rather the song to be pure and edit it myself with my mixer...you know, like a DJ should :P...

and it definitely doesnt burn your songs at the same volume because when i have used it for car CD's etc plenty of songs are quiter then others

oh and to answer the other questions, you want CD text because it will make the song name eg "highway to hell - ACDC" show up on your CDJ's screen...its nothing major but hey why not...might as well

and your dont want to burn to MP3 CD because it may drop your audio quality because its gonna try and compress any files your trying to burn because it thinks your trying to burn like 100 songs onto the disc...

just use standard

FYI- 320kbps mp3s that are burned as WAV are still not WAV quality, despite their size. they are still 320kbps mp3s, but in another format. (not that there is much difference anyway)

same goes for burning a 192kbps MP3 as a 320kbps version... it's still 192
