So,

a bouncer who knows the manager of a gentleman's club mentioned he was looking for DJs.

Has anyone had experience working in one of these ghastly places?

I thought it would be an interesting conversation starter!

\oh you horny bastards

but seriously its not really djing its just playing one song to the next really doesnt sound fun sounds like your being paid to just slide that crossfader across

i wouldnt do it as theres no self accomplishment in it, just money

but if you need the money and some scenery then go for it

i got asked a few years back,

turns out each dancer has their own tune they like to dance to,

and there's a lot of mic work doing intros etc...

so in essence you dont pick the music, you dont play to the crowd, you dont mix except if you want to in between acts, and you do have to do crap mic work, and sound you like mean it.

plus even if you hate it your girl wont believe you. and all the regular pervs will keep asking if you can help them get to know the girls...

the view gotta be very good, and the money even better.

not really a job for dj, IMO

I was close to DJing at a strip joint in Sydney (Sefton).

It was pretty full on, the dj was in charge of making sure the girls turn up on time, if one pulls out, organise with other girls to cover shifts etc, announce girls getting on stage, advertise to get people to purchase shows etc it was intense.

All this on top of keeping the cheesey rnb/rock/house going, depending on what thje girl wanted for her 30mins on the stage!!

strip clubs can be fun for obvious reasons, but you also have the added responsability of being the MC and working up the crowd, gotta make it rain so to speak

Do it! the money is amazing. You get tips to play music which never happens in a normal club. Plus if you are nice to the girls they tip you also. I did one year at one on the gold coast, made awesome friends, and i would get $50.00 to play certain songs to get certain girls on stage.

It helped that I am gay and the girls didnt distract me. Plus any type of Djing experience is great. I have been getting paid for 30 years as a DJ now only because I have tried as many different styles and places as I can.

So my advice if you want to do this forever, try it all and try all genres...
