ok :D so first!

One, do you like my Dj name, Sol Dios, no dj just sol dios :) its original! :D yay

anyway, also Im looking to get the newmark mix track pro, but I cant seem to find any store in aus that sells it for under 400? but all that's different between the mixtrack pro and mix track is no mic or headphone inputs (and usb sound card)

is there any way I can hook these things up to my laptop so they work with traktor or virtual dj?

hi sol dios. so a tequila fan or an armored core fan.

do an intro in intros as to what music you into, whats yer favourite colour and all that.

in regards to the controllers dont really know much about them but a few people here do so just wait a bit.

but googling it is $409 (not much more than $400) at store dj, and im sure they are a bit bing lee these days, everything is negotiable. i dont think ive ever paid full listed price, even just for cables...

https://www.storedj.com.au/products/NUM-MIXTRACKPRO

also it says it comes with vdj LE, so i would say yes you can get it to work traktor and vdj, it is likely just a MIDI controller

Welcome to our forum.

I have an M-Audio X-Ponent for sale for $500 with Torq 2.

Great place to start!

sorry :( I dont have that kind of money though, it looks epic! but id have to do some serious saving to be able to get that. I work at that place that sells fried chicken (sorry cant say the name, social networking contract)

id love to buy it off you though, but yeh :/

mmhm :) 16, but being young doesent mean I dont have a eternal love for music! id die without it :)

and as for sync, I like it, just because Im new to dj'ing, but honnesly what does it matter, as long as you and your crowd loves what your doing! thats the main rule of being a dj for me :)

uhh, I think its a fair point man :S

sorta, but you should really learn to beat match on cd players or turntables at some point down the track.

besides, sync button is boring

Posted

give the guy a break, he is asking reasonable questions for what he knows, and how else can you learn?

so what have you decided on doing mate? Have you seen anything you want to save towards?

Posted

i'd suggest saving toward the kontrol S4 or the denon 6000 controller.

They cost more than double what you're looking to spend, but they are well worth it IMO cause you'll want to upgrade down the track anyway.

An even stronger suggestion would be to try and pick up a few second hand CDJs and a mixer to play with, and learn that way.

yup, lloyd is right... cdjs are probably the best way to start off learning. You don't have to get pioneer. Try for denon or even reloop. I started off with reloop cd players and a mixer to learn beatmatching, and i think it was the best way. Learn the basics on cd players+mixer then decide if you want some cdj's or move to a controller.... but you need to learn the basics first.... which is hard when you are being tempted with a sync button and looking at waveforms.

yea, when i first got my mc6000 i used the sync for a while... but same thing happened to me, i just felt like i might as well be pressing play on a cd player, so now i use it like any turntabe/cdj and mixer

Posted

it made me start to think about getting 900s or 2000s and using rekordbox.

I hated burning cds, and traktor is a little on the robot side... kinda makes you feel a bit like a jukebox

Posted

mmhm :) I know newmark is suspost to be shit, but I still really like the look of the newmark mixtrack pro :) but that would be upgrading from my audio-line all in one mixer.

lots of people seem to hate on controllers, but they appeal to me, mainly because where I work

(place that sells fried chicken, soz cant say name of it because of social networking agreement)

pays $6 an hour :/ and it means you don't have to burn lots of cds, or keep constantly transferring things to a usb.

If I had more money, Id probably get the Denon DNMC6000

Oh and so far ive had 3 gigs at bday partys! they went really well and everyone had a great time!

gandy, by the way, am a dj because I love music, not because its cool and not because of the money

thank you for sticking up for me by the way :)
