Gandy Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 hey guys, what software do you use to equalise and sound level your tracks, some tracks i have sound "louder" than others and its really annoying when bringing one in and its like twice as loudcheers Quote
eggssell Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 i just use the mixers equaliser. but then again i dont really have anything thats half as loud?what are you playing low end mp3s? Quote
Jaz Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 i was gonna say "the Gain" the other day but i didnt want it to come across like a smart ass lol Quote
Gandy Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 i was more talking about something like mixed in key that fixes the sound level and makes it all one standard, instead of sounding too loud or too soft maybe i didnt explain it properly Quote
Jaz Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 so basically like putting a compressor on the whole recorded mix? Quote
Ravni Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 so basically like putting a compressor on the whole recorded mix?I know that mixed in key now have a program that has a compressor that basically has a compressor that rounds of square waves of tracks that have been poorly compressed to give a better sound apparently its good but i have not used it i got the old mixed in key program cbf upgrading Quote

SourceRaver Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I think you want to 'normalize' your tracks so google that instead. I used to use Steinberg Wavelab and you could normalize a single track or a whole mix.Also...Keep your channel faders at about 70% so if the incomming track is a bit soft, you can bump the volume without touching the gain on the mixer. The gain on my DJM3000 is really sensative and really small adjustments can up/lower the volume a lot. So best to use the channel faders. Quote
Gandy Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 normalize is exactly the word i was looking for just couldnt put what i was thinking in my retarded head into a question thanks +rep Quote
