legunner Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Hey guys i just went on the website and there are a few different versions varying in price.I basically want to use the program just to play live sets i won't be using it really to create much.Which version should i buy? Quote
Jaz Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Depends, are you determined to stick with it or do you just want to have a poke around? how much cash you have? for just playing live set the light version might do the job Quote
legunner Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 I am determined to stick with it but it seems that the full version will have so many feeatures that i will not use.I would probably be using it with an Akai APC40. Quote
Ravni Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 i had live 8 and live 8 suite, suite just gives you more instruments i got a good deal on the upgrade so i took it but i think in your case live lite would do ok and if u need a better version just upgrade when an offer comes around the actual program for all versions is the same just the functionality is better on live8 opposed to live 8 lite, the difference in functionality between live 8 and live a suite is none just the fact that u sampler and a few other instruments. legunner Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Okay so i think i'll be getting Live intro to start off with.https://www.ableton.com/shop/more_info?item_number=84360 Quote
lloydc Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 if you buy the boxed version, then you get 7gb of samples, compared to 1gb for the d/l version.just a thought Quote
CBG Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Fuck the samples tho. You can download 3rd party ones. Thrs how they suck noobs inAnd in terms of instruments, the native ableton aren't that great anyways. You can download 3rd vsts/au Suite is more powerful I believe, if you happen to be an extreme WHALE Quote
legunner Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 It seems that i have STUMBLED upon a version of Ableton that my friend GAVE to me... Quote
