Funky_Steve
Um. Isn't one pair active and the other passive??Hence the price difference (that and the size diff of 8" over 6")
Jaz
ahh shit your right, i could have sworn i read they were active, i must have been in a different link i meen passive wouldnt be much of a problem, already got a big amp, but then everytime i get a mobile gig id have to steal it from my monitors + its way to powerful for themwhat a topic killer, new topic then, thoughts on these? http://www.storedj.com.au/products/BEH-B1030A
ChevChelios
5.25" is a pretty odd size for a monitor, and behringer are shit house for actual sound monitoring. What do you want them for?
Jaz
Will only be using them for production, ableton, mpk49, laptop, monitors thats itopen to suggestiong
tubby
Not sure on the 103x range but the 203x models have always been well regarded for the price. Seen the 1030a for under 300 a pair. But if you go a bit higher than the 203X, $7-800 you'll find abstep up in quality. Yamaha hs80, mackies etcRemember that monitors sit very close to you, an 8 inch model may be too loud in that setting and create bass issues I'm a small, untreated roomHead to a store with a few CDs you know well and demo them all. Djwarehouse has a decent room setup just for this
ChevChelios
Yep, 8" is generally to big for most peoples bedrooms. Id recommend hsm50s, extremely flat frequency response, which is ideal once you get used to them.Behringers are... meh, in my opinion, but you wont really get anything better. Jaz
just had a brain wave though tubby, StoreDJ would probly match price if i was to go for them
tubby
worth a try. make sure if you go into a store you test them, everyone likes and hears something different. also, take tracks you know well so you can hear the differences over different speakers. Jaz
15's LOL you'd be sitting with them 1 meter away n going deff...+ i think 15's are mainly for volume and sound spread/project-ability rather then audio quality...

andyman
I wish I knew what everyone was talking about.I still live in the world of Logitech.
Jaz
Logitech is a cheap world with surprisingly good quality though
DJAdumbration
DJaz is right - I have a pair of Logtiech USB speakers which would be no more than 3" but the bass these things put out is bloody awesome (for their size). My folks have a Logitech 2.1 setup and this setup totally blows me away everytime I hear it. Of course, they have nothing on a proper setup but for the size/money, Logitech make some really good shit.
