SourceRaver Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Something I made up a few years back when I was mobile Dj'ing:I didnt have a lappy at the time so had to cart my whole computer arround. All the gear you see in this photo came out of the back of me Daihatsu Charade! Quote
awesome88 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 wow, that's mad. did you make it yourself? Quote
FabDJ Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Looks greatIf I had a van to carry it around, I would make one just like that. Quote
SourceRaver Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 wow, that's mad. did you make it yourself?Yeah. Made from MDF and has a couple of shelves (for a sneaky beer or two) built in below. I had to improvise with the 'mouse shelf' as I get a really sore wrist by the end of the night. I drilled a heap of holes through each level to run all the cables. I also had to make a slot in the side so the CD tray on the pooder could open and close! Quote
DJAdumbration Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Love the setup and even more impressed you could get all that in a Daihatsu Charade. Quote
CBG Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 how you meant to cop gobbies from chicks behind that? Quote
Funky_Steve Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Cool set-up.I should put up some pics of mine. Quote
rhetski Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 That looks nice and neat! I been trying to draw up a few ideas for my gear, my back kills after a few hours bending over a normal height table! Quote
SourceRaver Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Yeah...its a drafting chair so when sitting your approximatley the same height as standing. It got squeezed upside down into the front passanger seat of my car and was great for sandwiching the pooder tower into the front seat. Quote
Hobberz Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 That is awesome, simple design but still looks very professional.Note: When I say simple, I would have no chance building that Quote
Funky_Steve Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Here are some old pics of my mobile setup. The stand was dead easy to make and even easier to cart around. I made it to the height that suited me and I'm able to hide away my amp and messy cabling behind it. Quote
SourceRaver Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Nice and neat! Looks like it folds away flat packed too.Dont forget to repost your mobile rig at:http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=4465 Quote
Funky_Steve Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yeah it does fold down so you can carry it in under your arm or sit flat on a trolley.Simple to make out of ply or craftwood and piano hinges. The benchtop just sits on top of the stand and is big enough for the console I used here or you could put a full-size roadcase on top.And covered in grey felt that matches the speakers, my console (and my amp case which is behind the stand). SouthWestEntertainment Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 some pretty cool idea's here guys. anyone make something that folds away flat ? Quote
Funky_Steve Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 My stand and top (shown above) folds away flat. And it's really easy to carry in/out of a venue. Quote
FabDJ Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Is the A.C part of the setup?I could use one of those, seems I'm always cooken where I'm placed. Quote
rhetski Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hey Funky Steve, do you have a pic of what it looks like from where you stand? Quote
Funky_Steve Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Not at the moment.I'll take some this weekend and post them up. Quote
