mattus123
Hey guys ive found a couple of great songs which i want to put into my mixes, except they dont have an instrumental start, instead it jumps straight into lyricsim wondering how you guys would go about mixing these sort of songs into ur setsive created a loop somewhere in the middle of the song where there is an instrumental section, and then when it is playing on its own, i start the track from the beginningis that how you guys would go about doing it? eggssell
if you check my recent mix i had just that.for one i tried a cut and it sounded crap (transition 5).for the next one i just hot dropped it over an instrumental part of the outgoing song (transition 6), which sounded better except i was about half a beat off. mattus123
hot dropping might be the way to gocause the way i did it, it kinda sounded a bit sloppyill try ur waythanks
Jaz
i usually grab a loop or use the in loop sampler to drop lyrical hints into the outro of a songeg, doing mobile gigs, at the moment you get asked for "Like a G6" heaps, so grab the lyrics "Getting slizard" & "like a G6" n try n sneek them into the outro while dropping the lows n fading the volume before your start the next songjust an idea
mattus123
that might be worth a try actuallydo u recon like a 2 beat loop type of thing?i was thinking maybe trying to drop out the lows and highs, only leaving the mids, and create a sort of accapella type thingwould that work? Jaz
yeh some shit is ridiculous, just simply say "nah dont have it"yeh get that technique down pat n it will sound wicked, but stuff it up n it will destroy ears
mattus123
ive tried doing thatand kinda make a bit of a mash up type of thing?wen i do that, i normally kill the lows on the incomming track, so u only hear vocals.. is that kinda wat u meant? eggssell
hi mattus, not quite a mash up but yes a transition where the vocal is over the top of the outgoing song. i wouldnt kill all bass maybe just down to 20%.as i said i needed to do it in my last mix. go to 9.35, and you will see at 9.46 which has lyrics from go drops in. of course you need to drop it perfectly which i didnt quite.then i leave the outgoing go for one more phrase, before quickly dropping itout while turning the incoming track bass to 100 Mixxx2010-11-28 B Grade (Bmore Booty Bass) by eggssell
