Akai APC40 vs Akai MPK25

So as we know I'm in brissy for stereo and looking to get myself a Controller for Chrissy, checked out StoreDJ, spoke to a bloke for a good hour, he highly recommended the mpk over the apc...said the mpk its more for production (what I want) and the apc is more for live performance and launching clips etc

you experienced producers are the the experts so I thought I'd ask

pro's I can see are:

mpk has velocity sensative drum pads where as the apc just has standard buttons which u can program snare/kick,Hhat etc to

has the keyboard obviously, but the apc had the volume faders

mpk is about half the price as well

apc does have a lot of advantages for production though, especially if you like working on the fly, but I would probably go with the mpk49 or the 61 if you have the cash.

The MPK 49 retails for around $1000 so Store DJ's current price of $449 is a bargain. Lightsounds also have it for $449.

Fo real? explains why i was so confused when most of the internet had it more expensive then SDJ, even ebay was more expensive

am hopefully puting it on order by the end of the week

I've got one of these

i think it was sitting about $600 but its droped in the last 6months

really good. i havent used the auto map much i kinda prefer to map what ever i want.

the pads have a really good feel and faders have a nice feel same with the keys.

time division is pretty cool little feature

i'm using it with abelton, mainly with a live project i had going for a little while.

i really like it. perfect size for having room to play everything and still being small enough to take places.

no issues with the controler at all. such i shame i've got the delay from my computer happening. shits me sooooo much makes it so hard to play live.

I dont think midi keyboards use only midi ports these days, its all usb.
