ableton trouble..

hi everyone

ive just bought the live lite version of ableton with the nio souncard and im pretty keen to start playing around with it as a dj tool first and ill toy around with remixing and production once i have my head around it.

the problem i have is that none of my tracks come up when i open the folders they are in on the computer. most if not all are in mp3 format and i cant work out how or if i need to change that. apparently ableton doesnt support split stereo tracks or something?

any help you could give would be ggggrrreeeaatttlllyyyy appreciated! thanks

I usually just drag tracks straight from itunes onto the session view.

Are you opening the folders in the left hand browser, or are you clicking file/open?

ive been trying from the browser on the left. i get a folder but no files underneath it.

just tried dragging from itunes but that didnt work either. this is killing me!

heeerrrrrmmm, what format are all your files, are they m4a?

some types of .mp3s wont work. pretty rare to get a whole bunch of them though

they're mostly all mp3s and alot of them are off beatport. what file type would anyone else normally get off beatport?

wierd try re installing the software im gonna ask something stupid did u authorize the software,

email ableton they are pretty good got get an anwer bak to u or search the ableton forum

just so everyone knows.. i first updated the software which still didnt work, then i reinstalled it and its been sweet since.

good to hear it worked out.

Although, albeton will take mono channels, it just duplicates to stereo. mp3 or wav off beatport shouldnt matter
