hey guys

im looking to play at some outdoor settings for our cafe's/restaurants at night time/evenings along our main stretch in town and i think deep house is the appropriate genre to play at these times.

just bought a lot of deephouse/chill out tunes from beatport and just wondering if there is a "default/standard" bpm like in house etc 130bpm.

having never mixed this genre before ill be giving it a bash this weekend, again my networking has done wonders for me as the guy who has asked me to play runs the strip and our entertainment centre so it could lead to a lot more work

just got to whip him up a quick demo cd to make sure its not too heavy. Going to do a deephouse/chillout 20min set and throw in a proghouse set to see if i can get away with playing that

i used to play deep house in a club here in brissy. usually with deep house i've found my set progress from around 110bpm to about 125bpm. personally i probably wouldn't push much past 125.

i did a quick 20 min set i recorded today, i found 120-124 was ideal.

how relaxing is it mixing deephouse lol i was super destressed and chilled out even when recording it

had a weird thing where the lappy crapped out for about 4 seconds stuttering the song though not that it matters as its just a quick demo for ol mate anyway

Yeah Deep House can be one of the most amazing genres. I generally play tracks from 110 - 126bmp. But ill pitch up or down depending on the mood.

125bpm??? fuckin' hell. Thats nose bleed territory. ;)

Deep house is usually produced between 110 - 125bpm. I would usually benchmark it around 120 as the standard.

All depends on the seting really. If your gonna be playing in the evening then i'd keep it slow. 110 - 115bpm. Loungin'

more necrofred:

funny you lot seem to think deep house is chill out.

to me it's late late night, after all the heavy wobbles and when the pingers are really levelling out but you wanna just keep rolling to something. Keeps the dancefloor full and bubbling as opposed to going mad and raving. Also some of the best music to play if everyone is feeling sexy, not showy sexy like rnb freax, just plain sexy. 110-125 bpm.
