Gandy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 did a whole bunch of recording this afternoon as ppl have been asking me for mix cds, just some 4 track/20 min mixes, and was pretty pumped with my efforts then listened back to them, and some transitions are JUUUUUST out, fuck it made me angry because it sounded perfect in my headphonesso i ask the pros what did you do to fine tune your ear to get it from great to perfectthanks Quote
Gandy Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 sorry cupe prolly belongs in the beginner sectionimagine how bored you would be without having to move all my topics Quote
CBG Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 use you monitors man, thats what they're for. Some kicks dont match up as well, its up to you to choose the right song. Quote
eggssell Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 yes beginners. what i found helped heaps was have your monitor in front of you. i use to have them under the table which made it hard to hear but i think also was causing a delay meaning i was a bit out (well thats the excuse i use he he). im far frm being perfect yet so ill let the others fill in more blanks Quote
pulsebeat Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 booth speakers, and maybe a hearing aidnah but always look at the eq i recon mate Quote
djarmed Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 what kit you got gandy??if its software is their any chance a delay could be occuring?? Quote
Gandy Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 all i have for speakers are 2 krk rp8's and there positioned beside me, i usually do the beatmatching in my headphones then one on one off to get the timing right to drop it ini use tsp, cdj350 x2 and djm 350 Quote
Gandy Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 like on the ground, beside me not up high, maybe theres a alight delay like eggs said being on the ground and about 1m away from me? Quote
Gandy Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 hmm well thats not gonna happen anytime soon where im living, i guess ill have to use software for my recordings then Quote
tubby Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Record and listen to as many if your mixes as you can. You notice the small errors on playback and can be more aware of them when mixing in future Quote
