ordering from thomann.de, I got the original order in 3 days, one record was warped and the replacement also only took about that long.

these days most warehouses clear the line each day and freight companies have flights leaving late evening to accomodate the 8-4 warehouses. Unless your order is delayed in customs or order processing there's not a lot of reason for orders to take very long.

though I did head NI has a long backorder list now for these shipments (ie no stock)

Given that Traktor Scratch Pro still hasn't arrived (from NI in Germany) and was put on a flight to Australia on the 8th November, I decided to email DHL to get the shipping status. Here is the response I received:

thank you for your request.

The parcel left Germany on 2010-11-08 going to Australia.

General running time for your parcel is 11-12 business days excluding customs clearance.

Your parcel will be delivered by Australia Post.

In case your parcel does not arrive at the recipient until 2010-11-22 please contact the sender and request an investigation.

Do you have any further questions? Please don't hesitate to contact your customer service representative using the phone number given below.

In case you answer back via mail please refer to your first request.

Kind regards,

Steffi Drechsler

Looks like it should finally arrive by Monday next week, but hopefully by Friday to give us the weekend to play around ;) . I'm not impressed that NI blatantly lies about their shipping times but I guess all we can really do is be patient and wait.

I'm sorry that you haven't received the package yet.

Normally the shipping time to Australia is 12-16 business days, but sometimes

there can be a delay in the local mail, too. (Seldom but sometimes the delay can

take up to 3 weeks, what hopefully will not be the case.) Please also verify your

address. (Very important!)

Unfortunately there is no way to track the package, because it was sent by the

postal mail system. Please be patient some more days.

I doubt Australia post is to blame. My package was put on an international flight from Germany on the 8th Nov and it still hasn't even arrived in Australia (so I'm told). They've given me an Australian Post tracking number so I can track it in Australia, but so far Australia post haven't received it.

Does anyone know how international packages are handled? Do they visit numerous airports and warehouses before finally reaching their destination? It doesn't make sense that it takes more than 10 days to fly a package from Germany to Australia in one simple trip.

it will probably fly direct from germany to aus, possibly with one stopover in asia.

it's probably delayed in customs check in aus, that's the only really manual step in the process

Apparently StoreDJ are having trouble with Kontrol S4 shipping due to it being held up in customs.

"SHIPPING UPDATE: OUR FIRST DELIVERY HAS UNFORTUNATELY BEEN HELD UP IN CUSTOMS AND IS NOW EXPECTED TO ARRIVE AROUND 24TH NOVEMBER."

Maybe our TSP packages are being held for the same reason :pale:

if they get theirs on the 24th... then we should get ours anyday now. cus we bought ours on the day it all went cheap.

Fuck you customs you tight arse fucks... just another reason why AUS's edm scene is shit. cus customs wont let our gear in!!!!!
