CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I've had some annoying people while playing, mainly chicks asking for shit songs. But the other day, I was playing at the day festival thing at this club, and these two blokes came up, I could tell straight away they were pissed and lookin to be smartarses... they ask for some shit 70's song... at the time I was playing some big progressive house tracks. So later on they come back and stand in front of the booth, they start fuckin asking for gay songs, touching the mixer whenever I look away. Im starting to lose my shit.... Then the whales come back and try to rest his beer in the space where the cables from the CDJ2000 sit in the coffin... im like wtf WHALE! fuck off... desperately looking for a bouncer cus the one thats always next to the booth isnt there. they finally arrive back, after this prick nearly writing off a CDJ2000 and a DJM2000... and i skitz it at the bouncers and get the two little shits kicked out...Anyways.. what the worst patron/s you've had? Quote
Jaz Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Fuck that shit, those are the times you need to be 100kg and rippednever worked in a venue but worst I had was at a party, got told to stop for 10mins for the cake cutting so I grab some fresh air n chill hole everyone eats, little do I know some fuck has gone back inside n decides he's David Guetta with cake all over his hands touching my laptop n shit, walk in as he's trying to get my smoke machine going, put him up against the wall by his shirt n tell him to fuck off...thankfully he does and then I get iceing off my shit with a towel and start up again very pissed offasshole Quote

ruggs Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 had a girl at this club i play at ask me to play LMFAO shots as the first song just as i was setting up and she would not stop asking for it so i played it real quite whilst i set up then after she said come dance on the dance floor, this was whilst i was djing and i said i can't i'm djing can't u see? and she would not leave then she threatening to tell the manager of the club about me haha she ended up getting booted. pulsebeat Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 LOLdamm boys i dont have any "worst patron" stories Quote
CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 yeah, good fckn mixer man, very nice. I was playing some chords by deadmau5 and I tuned the special effects into the snare drum, so i chucked it on slip roll and was pretty much freestlying the snare drum in perfect timing, was fucking epic sounding.Plus I had 3 2000s as well Quote
lloydc Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 dream setup!!! 2000 mixer is definately on the list Quote
CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 gd package, means u dont have to get an efx Quote
pulsebeat Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 so jealous of you cbghow long you been djing for now mate? Quote
Tomy Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 just punch the fucker man, i know its not really the greatest PR move but they wont do it again and whats the chances of seeing them again. I've had a few instances where I've had to push someone/ smash away hands. i get pretty ruthless if i'm sick of it. when it comes to drinks i either take them away or just lift it off as if i'm going to drop it off the booth then they get the point and dont put shit up there. i know this probably give off the arrogant dj thing but i couldn't be further from it. my current weekly gig is a bit rough at times haha. a few of the best lines i've heard"go back to DJ school""your shit""well what DO you have then" Quote
JonnyB Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 had someeropean chick come up to me when we were playing main set time requesting Trance, i said something along the lines of ' im sorry i dont have any, this club is mainly electro house/party based music' she kept nagging me and i kept saying no, then she just gave me the finger right in the face and told us to fuck off and left the club...on the other hand, 2 weekends ago i had some chick lean over the side of the dj both while my mate was droping a few and give me a few sneaky kiss's. cant complain with that yeah? Quote
CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 nah, i can understand that tomy. I gd one for me is: "yeah, i dont have that, but definetily ask the next dj..."You get the girls that try real hard by grabbing ur arm n shit lol. I go into a completely different mind set when im playing... like it is my job, and u have control of hundreds of ppl... who are spending money in the club, if the music is constantly good. So you cant act like a douche. So yeah, i will be a WHALE, like you tomy, if i have to. I dont want a CDJ2000 on my costs...lol Quote
CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 pulse, ive been djing for around 5yrs. Professionally for about 12months Quote
Jaz Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 on the other hand, 2 weekends ago i had some chick lean over the side of the dj both while my mate was droping a few and give me a few sneaky kiss's. cant complain with that yeah?nope not unless it was that other chicks mate and she'd just given a guy a blowey then kissed you as revenge for not playing her trance Quote
Funky_Steve Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I hate it when someone gives you a hard time over something real trivial. Puts you in a shit mood. One night I had some PYT (Pretty Young Thing) request a song and expect me to play it right then. I said I'd try to play it soon. Came back a song later asking why I hadn't played it yet. Tried flashing her eyelids etc but it didn't work so I think she got pissed off because her girly charms didn't work for once. Asked be what my name was, so I told her. Then she asked what my full name was, which I didn't tell her. She then went and spoke to one of the bouncers (who I know) and obviously complained about me. Like a bouncer would help her?? (he later told me she asked him my name and contact number of which he gave her some bogus mobile number). Get this - then she came back and said her Dad owned the building and that I wouldn''t be working there next week. I said Fine, I need a holiday anyway (which I think pissed her off more because I wasn't shaking in my boots). Then she went off in a huff, walked out and I never saw her for the rest of the night.Amazes me this little PYTs who think they can get everything they want by batting their eyelids and giving you a fake smile. It put me in a shitty mood for awhile which really puts a downer on the night. At closing time i thought I'd mention it to the manager just in case she later contacted the club and said I was abusive or something like that. He laughter about her Dad owning the building as he knew for a fact who the owner was and that he lived up in Nth Qld. Quote
Jaz Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 from reading this thread it seems everyone's dad owns all your clubs Quote
JonnyB Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 but yet they dont seem to ever care what their daughters think, cause we never hear shit from them hehe Quote
Funky_Steve Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 And another annoyance in general are patrons who dance neat the booth and have B.O.!!It would be OK if you could get away, but you can't. Your stuck there in the booth and have to put up with it. Quote
JonnyB Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 just ask the secca to move him away, say he is a hazard to the decks, Quote
Funky_Steve Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Sec is usually on the other side fo the dancefloor. And it's not alwys the guys. Some girls are worst! Quote
CBG Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 gotta hav a bouncer next to the booth. booth on sat had a platform in front of it where chicks are allowed to dance....their arse is right at ur eye level....its quite nice.ohh on my later gig on sat, i had a girl looking thru my cds, for songs she liked lol. all the bouncers were fuckd by that stage so i just let her Quote
krsjuan Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 then she came back and said her Dad owned the building and that I wouldn''t be working there next week. true this. people who make up bullshit like this are droppos Quote
