JonnyB Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 hahaha thats fucked man, there has been a few big named dj's that have been caught doing that, there may of been something else going on though, did he have a laptop with him.on the bright side, it is only a pub, cant expect too much, kebab sounds so good Quote
Skank Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 haha yeah it happens thats why some booths have mirrors behind so you can see what the dj is really up too ive been guilty if playin at hotels and dropin in a premix to warm up while i watch a bit of southpark on the lappy Quote
crundyy Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 yeah thats fairenough aslong as you actually spend the majority of the night actually dj'ing not just being a gronk..and its also fucked that all of us spend so much time perfecting beatmatching and tryin to get a gid anywhere and these gronks just rock up with their little remix cds that they probly just ganked somewhere off the net and claim it as their own and get to play and get paid for it..i was so keen to break his decks. Funky_Steve Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Simple solution.Track down the manager and ask if he knows his DJ play pre-mixes.He may or may not already know and/or maybe doesn't care so long as he's making money over the bar - which is the main factor in as you call it a "local (shit) pub/club". crundyy Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 tru, im pretty sure he would give two fucks cos theyd be making that much cash at the 5 bars but either way the dj is a shitwhale. Quote
chrismak Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 If you dwell on the fakers too much you'll turn bitter.Obviously they're in it for the money or the status but their lack of talent will only get them so far. Eventually they'll get bored of pretending and either get their act together or give it up entirely. Its passion that drives you to succeed. If mixing makes you happy then that's all you have to worry about Quote
crundyy Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 get him fired and take his spot?id much rather KO him and take his spot Quote

CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 the sad thing is... the publican wouldnt even care. The EDM scene in australia on average, is shithouse... thats why nightlife is so popular. They dont give a crap how the dj does it, just look like your doing something and thats money in the bank Quote
CBG Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 yeah, which i dont understand. A DJ to me, is an artist, not an employee. So many out there just do their thing every fuckin week and dont make an active effort to better themselves. I know blokes that have been doing the same gig for 10+ years. Imagine how gd u could get at production in those 10yrs!! Quote
