Cartridges Stylus Headshells

Ok.. someone break it down for me.. what are they what do they do... and what do i need for my shitty turntable.. i dont want anything too great... and i know i can always take them off and use them on another turntable.. so help a brother out

the dont know what brand the turntables are .. but the metal part of the turntable.. under where you put the vinyl.. i flipped it over and for some odd reason they say technics..

what kind of rubber should i get, from where and how much are they and what not..

wait. so you have the headshell?

the cart is pretty much what attaches the stylus to the headshell. most carts come with a standard stylus and thats what most peeps use to the best of my knowledge

so just go for a cheap cart that has a stylus included

Ah ok I don't even know what I have lol. I can twist it off but it has no needle I checked it it said stanton 500 mk2

yep thats the headshell. the cart connects to that.

a cartridge and stylus(needle). most carts come with a stylus

the headshell is that thing you can twist.

technics did make belt drive machines. you may have got one of those. does it say technics anywhere else?? but when you say you can lift the platter off, is the platter spinning via a magnet, are you sure yours is a belt drive. my old man had a belt drive marantz (which we use to scratch on when he wasnt around ha ha), and the platter never came off

100% it's belt driven I can take te rubber off it. I think when I go get needles I'll bring whatever I have in and they should tell me what else i need or if I need new ones

yeah ill take some photos soon. just playing around with them got some new(old) cartridges and stylus. just need to pull the mixer out and see if it works .
